Child-related Employment Screening Check

Child protection laws in South Australia make it mandatory for organisations which provide education services to children, to ensure that employees and volunteers engaged in prescribed positions have met specific screening requirements.

Child related employment screening is conducted by the Department of Human Services (DHS) . The screening process undertaken uses a risk assessment protocol based on the relevant legislation pursuant to which screening is required.

Prospective Staff 

Where a working with childre ncheck is required, an application for child related employment screening will be initiated by the People, Talent and Culture team once they have received your acceptance of the position.

You will be provided with further instructions as part of your recruitment process.

Current Staff

If your current function requires  an application for child related employment screening will be initiated by the People, Talent and Culture team.

You will be required to complete part of this application and your designated People, Talent and Culture advisor will let you know what action you need to take.

National Police Check

Please note a National Police Check is different to the child related employment screening. If you hold such a check, you will still be required to undertake the relevant screening process if requested by the University .
