Incorporating study overseas in to your degree…..well, it just makes sense!

We help you find the right exchange program, guide you through the application process and assist you in applying for grants and funding. 

The majority of the exchange options outlined below coincide with the UniSA Business School Winter School commencing from Study Period 4 in 2017. This is the perfect opportunity for you to explore the world whilst studying.

To participate in a short term exchange program with one of our partner universities, undergraduate students need to have completed 18 units of study and postgraduates need 9 units of study, have a GPA over 4.0 and gain approval from your Program Director. Your Program Director will also be able to provide advice regarding the number of credits you will receive towards your program upon successful completion of the exchange.

For undergraduate students to be eligible for OS-HELP, students need to have completed 36 units of study.

After choosing your preferred exchange opportunity apply online for your selected course and a Travel Grant via the Study Overseas page . Please note that applications for exchange for UniSA Study Period 4 are open from 1 November to 11 January.  Applications close 11 January of the year you are planning to go on exchange.

Upon acceptance to your program the UniSA International team will work with you to ensure you’re fully prepared and ready to travel.

International Summer University

Location: Vienna, Austria
Dates: July Session - July 10 to July 28 2017, August Session - July 31 to August 18 2017
Duration: 3 weeks

The International Summer University program consists of two courses taught over three weeks.  You are able to choose from courses such as Human Resource Management, Marketing, Management, International Management, Social Media Marketing, Strategic Management, Financial Management, Sustainable Business, Global Marketing or International Marketing. The successful completion of the undergraduate program is worth 8 ECTS and the postgraduate program is worth 9 ECTS.

"Europe Inside Out"

Location: Leuven, Belgium

Duration: 14 days

The Europe Inside Out program offers majors in Doing Business in Europe, Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Europe which cover topics such as Finance, Corporate Governance and European Economics.  This is paired with visits to local businesses and cultural experiences.

HEC Montrēal

Business French Summer School

This immersion program combines intensive Business French courses (from total Beginner to Intermediate/ Advanced), interactive oral communication workshops, seminars and conferences in Marketing and Management, company visits as well as numerous socio-cultural activities and outings designed to discover the city of Montreal.

Beijing Normal University – International Summer School

co-hosted with the International Business School Americas

This 2-week program is aimed at students interested in learning more about Business in China and other Emerging Countries.  An annual theme is developed for the summer program with the 2016 program centred on Strategy & Marketing for Emerging Countries.  The program also incorporates company visits and case studies.

Fees: Tuition fee - $US 2860, Registration fee - $US 380 – approximately $4400 AUD

Grants: In addition to the UniSA Travel Grant, students are able to apply, through a competitive process for a Business School Student Mobility Grant. "Doing Business in China"

Duration: Varying from 3-10 days, the program is designed for MBA students

"Doing Business in China" is a program developed by Lingnan (University) College, Sun Yat-sen University.  It provides participants with an insight in to the business environment in China. It combines a lectures series in understanding the different regions in China, Chinese marketing strategies, Chinese culture and its impact on management, foreign direct investment, business law and practices in China, and other issues facing China in the trend of globalisation. The program is supported by company visits where participants will gain first-hand knowledge of the business practices of local and international corporations.

Fees: As this program is set around the needs of the students, fees are set at the time of designing the program.

Sun Yat-Sen University

International Summer Program

Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) International Summer Program (ISP) covers a wide range of business topics, reflecting the past 10 years of economic achievements in China and recent challenges to the region as well as to the country. Xiamen University - Xiamen Academy of International Law

Location: Xiamen, China

Xiamen Academy of International Law (Xiamen Academy) promotes academic exchange among legal communities across the globe, encourages students to examine major international issues, and by so doing seek ways to improve the possibilities for world peace and international cooperation.  The courses are given in English or French. The Summer Program is aimed at individuals who are already familiar with international law.  Courses held as part of the 2016 program included General Course of Public International Law, From Leipzig to The Hague: The Past and Future of International Criminal Law, Marine Environmental Protection and Law of the Sea: Practice of China, India, Japan and the Republic of Korea, Foreign Trade, Foreign Investment and National Security, The Evolution of Air and Space Law and The Changing Structure of International Economic Law.

Aarhus BSS Winter School

Primarily aimed at Australian University students the Aarhus BSS Winter School provides a mixture of lectures, classroom workshops, discussions, exercises and excursions. Courses offered as part of the program include Denmark and Business, Denmark and the European Union and Denmark, the EU and the World. Successful completion of the course is worth 10 ECTS.

This program introduce students to European business culture, focusing on the realities of doing business in Europe. The program is structured around 3 modules: European Management, European Marketing and French Cultural studies.  Courses are taught in English though an understanding of French is welcomed. Upon successful completion of the program students are awarded 8 ECTS.

The Luxury Brand Management program includes courses on Fashion and Luxury Goods Marketing, French Wine Business and Luxe à la française: French Luxury.  It’s particularly suited to students with an interest in marketing, product management, design, packaging, merchandising, display, licensing and on line sales.  All classes are taught in English though an understanding of French is welcomed. KEDGE Business School – International Summer Schools in Marseille

Location: Marseille, France
Duration: 1 week courses, up to 8 weeks in total
Dates: June 2017

The International Summer School allows students to select from ten courses all of which carry 5 ECTS credits. You can choose up to 8 courses including – Sport & Event Management, Sustainable Development & Social Responsibility (this deals with environmental economics and management, and corporate social responsibility) and Operations Management & Cross-Cultural Negotiations. All programs includes site visits, workshops and attendance at relevant events including the Tour de France. There is also the possibility to obtain an additional 5 ECTS French Language course.

"The Responsible Manager"

Rennes School of Business’ Responsible Management program focuses on the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR).  Courses taught include Stakeholder Management, Responsible Leadership, CSR and Investors – Responsible Finance, CSR and Employees – Responsible Human Resource Management, CSR and Consumers – Responsible Marketing, Green Business and Environmental Management and The Institutional Environment of CSR. It also incorporates company visits, cultural activities and sightseeing.  Upon successful completion of the program students are awarded 6 ECTS.

Toulouse Business School – Summer School

The Toulouse Business School Summer School focuses on the diversity and complexity of doing business in Europe. Modules are offered in Human Resource Management, Strategy, Finance, Marketing, Cross-Cultural Communication or Innovation.  There is also an optional module in French as a Foreign Language for either beginners or intermediate students.  Completion of the program allows students to earn up to 12 ECTS.

Fees: Early bird fee (pre 31 March) - €1000 and Hospitality package € 450 – approximately $2120 AUD.  Fee if paid after March 31 - €1150 and Hospitality Package € 450 - approximately $2350 AUD

Fees cover tuition, accommodation in a single room in student residence, lunch on week days and transport pass (metro and buses).  Please note that other travel and living expenses are at your own cost.

The Business Summer MBA Session covers topics such as European integration & monetary unification, business leadership and European financial markets within an international context.  Students also undertake corporate visits to the European Central Bank and to the car manufacturer, Audi as well as social and sightseeing activities.  The course is ideally suited for MBA students, however, Masters students in economics, business management, law, or related fields may also apply.  Successful completion of the program results in 10 ECTS credits.

EBS Law School – European Law Summer

Dates: June 6 - June 30th 2017

EBS Law Summer is suited to all levels of expertise in EU Law. The course begins with an intensive, one-week introductory course on the law of the European Union (4 ECTS) to provide students with the necessary foundations for the programme. Students may then choose from 6 different electives, each dealing with more detailed questions of European Business and Commercial Law.  Social and sightseeing activities are also incorporated in the program. Successful completion of the program results in between 10 and 16 ECTS depending on the number of eelctives selected.

A service fee is applicable to all students, applications received by the early bird fee deadline (28 March) are charged €350 and applications received by the regular deadline (25 April) are charged €450. Mexico

IPADE, Universidad Panamericana – "Doing Business in Mexico"

The Doing Business in Mexico seminar is a week long program in which the participants have the opportunity to interact with colleagues from Mexico and other visiting countries while learning about Mexico as an emerging market.  Mexico, along with countries like China and India, is an example of an emerging market. Generally, these countries have rapidly growing populations experiencing a substantial increase in living standards and income, rapid economic growth, and a relatively stable currency.

In 2017 the UniSA Business School will run a Study Tour to Mexico and Chile including elements of the Doing Business in Mexico course. For more information visit the Study Tours page.

The Netherlands

Arnhem Business School HAN University of Applied Sciences

"Doing Business in Europe"

Dates: June 24 – July 18 2017

By participating in the course, you will become acquainted with Dutch and other European cultures. You will also learn about European business policies and practices and develop the personal competences needed to do business in Europe. The course includes several company visits and voluntary trips to cities in the Netherlands. During the course you will be coached intensively on personal development. A group assignment called the Quest is part of the final assessment.

Fees: €1,500 (approximately $2250 AUD) for students on the basis of exchange. This includes accommodation, airport transfers, transfers between your accommodation and campus, company visits, welcome and farewell dinner and medical insurance for the duration of the course.  Tuition fees are covered as part of your fees at UniSA and additional travel and living expenses are at your own cost.

United Kingdom

European Sumer School of Advanced Management (ESSAM)

European Summer School of Advanced Management (ESSAM)

Location: London, England
Duration: 2 Weeks
Dates: June 25 - July 8 2017

The ESSAM program takes place one week at the Burleigh Court Conference Centre and one week at the Queen Elizabeth Park with the teaching taking place at Loughborough's new London campus. Loughborough is situated in the heart of England with easy access from across Europe and the world. Particpants in this course will gain a clear understanding of different countries, how to do business with them, working across cultures and latest updates on European political or economic issues. MBA students will be eligible to for 2 credits towards their MBA (these credits are "unspecified electives") program. Applications close in March 2017.

Fees: The fee for registered MBA students is £4,000 GBP pounds ($6,800 AUD approx). However, students from the Consortium universities (Which UniSA is a Consortium member) pay £2,800 GBP pounds ($4,600 AUD approx) directly to the Consortium. This includes single room accomodation for one person, most meals, course material, and visits. Accomodation for all participants is arranged in single rooms with private facilities in all venues and transport between the locations is included in the fee. Applications are direct to the consortium.

Aston Business School

The Aston Summer Program (ASP) offers a variety of courses: from an exploration of contemporary UK issues and preparation for IELTS in ‘UK Explorer’ to the political context of ‘Doing Business in Europe’, investigation of ‘Strategic Marketing in Turbulent Times’ and Advanced Research Methods: ‘Multilevel Regression Analysis’ and ‘Panel Data Models for Accounting and Finance’.

Fees: Vary between £795 and £1495 depending on the course selected. This program is not part of the exchange partner agreement. Please note that other travel and living expenses are at your own cost.
