Explore Short Term Exchange

  • Travel as part of your degree
  • Gain an international perspective
  • Develop global networks
  • Broaden your skills

We help you find the right exchange program, guide you through the application process and assist you in applying for grants and funding. The majority of the exchange options outlined below coincide either with the UniSA Business School Winter School or the summer break which is the perfect opportunity for you to explore the world whilst studying.

Eligibility

To participate in a short term exchange program with one of our partner universities, undergraduate students need to have completed 18 units of study and postgraduates need 9 units of study and have a GPA over 4.0. You should first gain approval from your Program Director who will also be able to provide advice regarding the number of credits you will receive towards your program upon successful completion of the exchange.

Undergraduate students may also be eligible for OS-HELP, but will need to have completed 36 units of study prior to application.

How to apply

After choosing your preferred exchange opportunity apply online for your selected course and a Travel Grant via the Study Overseas page . Please note that the deadline for applications for undertaking a short-term exchange are set by the Exchange Partner and vary accordingly. Please check the deadline via each Exchange Partner's website.

Upon acceptance to your program the UniSA International team will work with you to ensure you’re fully prepared and ready to travel.

Fees

If you are taking your program at a UniSA exchange partner university you will (in most cases) be offered a ‘tuition free’ place at the exchange partner. This means that you do not pay tuition fees to the exchange partner, though you will remain enrolled at UniSA for the value of the exchange (i.e., enrolled into a 4.5 or 9 units course). Although tuition at the exchange partner is waived, program fees generally apply* and are paid directly to the exchange partner and not included in the UniSA course fee. Please note that any additional travel and living expenses are at your own cost. Students not offered a ‘tuition free’ place at a UniSA exchange partner will pay all fees directly to the host university.

*In general, program fees cover the cost of accommodation, meals, transport, cultural activities, etc.

Grants

During your planning stages for your exchange and to avoid disappointment, please apply for the UniSA Business School Travel Grants prior to your acceptance from the partner institution and course planning for your exchange. The closing dates for the UniSA Business School grants are August 30th and January 30th, depending on when you will be undertaking the the exchange. With classes such as British Art and Architecture, London and it's Literature, London, global city of enterprise Muggle Madness: Harry Potter and other British icons, the classes aim to minimise the amount of time spent in a classroom and maximise the amount of experiential learning in and around the London area. All classes require a lot of walking as they are all field trip based, so please only apply if you are happy to be on your feet a lot! You can choose one or two courses as part of the Summer School.

Fees: As an exchange partner with the University of South Australia Business School you do not have to pay tuition fees as these are included as part of your fees at UniSA. A program fee does apply that covers accommodation, airport pickup, a travelcard and some social events and field trips. This fee will be calculated by Kingston University upon application. Please note that other travel and living expenses are at your own cost.

Grants: In addition to the UniSA Travel Grant, students are able to apply, through a competitive process for a Business School Student Mobility Grant. Further information is available here.
