Installing the Cisco AnyConnect Client

Installing the Cisco AnyConnect Client is a one-off process required for first-time setup of a VPN connection to the University network.  After the Cisco AnyConnect Client has been installed you can run the client from Start Menu on a Windows device.

  1. Make your way to: https://vpn.unisa.edu.au/
    NOTE:
    IE11 Internet Explorer (version 8 or above) is the recommended browser for installing the Cisco AnyConnect client.
    Edge Edge is NOT recommended by the IT Help Desk. By default Win 10 has IE11 installed, you just need to search for it.
  2. If a warning about valid certificates is displayed, select Continue to this website
  3. Enter your UniSA Username
  4. Enter your UniSA Password
  5. Click the Login button.

    NOTE: The AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client page should commence the installation process automatically. 
    If the download does not commence automatically select the Download button.
  6. If you are prompted by a Security Warning window, select Install

  7. If a Security Alert indicates the "Certificate Issuer for this site is untrusted", select Yes to continue with the installation.
  8. Once the installation process is complete, your computer will be connected to the University's network and an icon will be added to the system tray.

  9. Click up arrow to view additional system tray items
  10. The VPN will have a padlock to indicate its connected
    VPN connected
