For 64-bit systems, the VPN client needs to be installed manually.

  1. Go to: https://vpn.unisa.edu.au/
    Note: Internet Explorer (version 8 or above) is the recommended browser for installing the AnyConnect client.
  2. Click Continue to this website if warned about valid certificates appears.
  3. Enter your UniSA Username and Password
  4. Click Login
    NOTE:
    An AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client dialogue box will advise the software needs to be installed manually.
  5. Click Download
  6. Follow on screen prompts for installation

A native VPN connection can be configured within Mac OS X (64-bit) to allow for connection to the UniSA VPN server.  With this setup method, no VPN client needs to be installed in order for a connection to be established.

The Cisco AnyConnect App can be found in the Apple App Store by searching "AnyConnect".

  1. Install free AnyConnect app
  2. Open the app and select Add VPN Connection
  3. Add Connection
  4. Update the Add VPN Connection dialog box as follows:
    Description: Type UniSA
    Server Address: Type vpn.unisa.edu.au
  5. Click Save
  6. Set the AnyConnect VPN  to ON
  7. Click vpn.unisa.edu.au
  8. Update the Authentication dialog box as follows:
    Username: <your UniSA username>
    Password: <your UniSA password>
  9. Click Connect

Once successfully connected you will see a tick next to the connection details.  You will also notice a VPN icon appear in the top bar of the iPad.  This shows that the VPN is connected.

With VPN connected you are able to use the appropriate application to connect to your remote desktop or access files.

NOTE: Remember to disconnect the VPN when it is no longer required (open the application again, select the VPN Connection).

If you are using an implementation of Linux other than Ubuntu you must use the generic Linux Client.  You may need to modify the VPN Client to work with you particular flavour of Linux. 

NOTE: Cisco AnyConnect is the only UniSA supported client.
