Using general purpose Multi-Function Devices (MFDs) on campuses

In order for UniSA students to use the scanners/photocopiers in the Libraries they must:

  • ensure they have enough Print Quota.
  • if new to the university or start of a new year, need to ensure they have printed at least 1 page to the Follow-You print queue.
NOTE: The reason for this is because print quota registers with all systems/devices ONLY after an initial print job is sent.

There are easy to follow instructions displayed while at the Multi-Function Devices (MFD).

Or see the photocopy page for a short 2 minute video.

Only USBs drives formatted with the FAT32 file system will be recognised. If your USB is not recognised, please:

  1. Remove the USB from the MFD
  2. Go to PC
  3. Plug in your USB
NOTE: If your USB contains files ensure you back them up e.g. to OneDrive, because once formatted there is no way to retrieve files!
  4. Right mouse click on your USB and File Explorer and reformat to FAT32
  5. Try again in MFD

Unfortunately UniSA does not offer scanning higher than 600 dpi. If you require this you will need to seek assistance outside of UniSA, you could try the below which are closest to each campus, but we strongly recommend doing your own research and comparing of prices etc.
