Research Professional

 

Research Professional is an online platform that increases awareness of and provides access to:

• Directly relevant funding opportunities from both Australian and International sponsors
• Useful information for maximising the success of funding applications
• The latest developments in research policy, and
• A research news service.

Specifically, all funding opportunities presented are eligible for Australian application.

Accessing Research Professional

The University of South Australia provides free access to all University staff and students, both on and off campus.

Generic Access (no login required) - on campus only

Searching for funding opportunities and news items can be performed immediately on any University networked computer by accessing Research Professional.

Personal account registered access - on and off campus

University staff and students can create a Research Professional personal account using their UniSA log-in details. This allows access from any computer, as well as enabling searches to be saved and email alerts generated.

Please note that you must register from a UniSA on-campus computer. Following this registration step, you will also be able to log-in off campus.

Research Professional is best accessed by Firefox or Google Chrome browsers.

First time users of Research Professional

1. From the Research Professional Login Page, open the drop-down menu on the left hand side and select "University of South Australia". Then select "Log-in".
2. You will be redirected towards our institution's (Blue) log-in page. Log-in with your usual UniSA Username and Password.
3. You will be shown a page confirming that you have successfully logged in with your university account, and giving you several options to proceed. The page may be titled "Unrecognised user". Select "Create new account".
4. Enter the required details (first name, last name, UniSA email address and UniSA password). You will then be logged into your new Research Professional account. Your name should appear at the top of the page (RHS). Your accounts will be automatically linked, so you can log-in with your university details in the future.

If you already have an Research Professional Account

1. From the Research Professional Login Page, open the drop-down menu on the left hand side and select "University of South Australia". Then select "Log-in".
2. You will be redirected towards our institution's (Blue) log-in page. Log-in with your usual UniSA Username and Password.
3. You will be returned to Research Professional, and logged in to your personal Research Professional account.

Troubleshooting in Google Chrome

When using Google Chrome to log-in to Research Professional, users may be prompted with an Authentication screen, as per the image below, requesting their username and password. Entering your details into this screen does not work. This is a known issue, and users need to press "Cancel" on this authentication request. Users will then will be redirected towards our institution's (Blue) log-in page. At this screen users can log-in with their usual UniSA Username and Password.

Research Professional Training

There are a range of links and guides to help with the navigation of Research Professional. There is also a series of live online broadcast training sessions which provide an introduction to the Research Professional platform, demonstrating how to locate funding opportunities and shows how to set up email alerts.
