INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
UniSA has a large community of international students studying in Adelaide and abroad. Many of these students apply for the mentor program to gain an understanding of Australian workplace culture and learn about graduate roles they may be eligible for upon completion of their studies. In some cases students will ask about visa, permanent residency and work rights. These conversations are difficult and outside the responsibility of the mentor and the University. As a result, advice has been sought to assist you should your student raise these questions:
- Refer students to DIBP website
- The University International team has provided the following disclaimer for mentors if immigration questions arise with their students: ‘The Business Career Mentor Program participants are not able to provide guidance regarding visa applications and eligibility. Mentors are not able to answer questions regarding visa options, eligibility and application processes. Mentees must consult the DIBP website or a registered MARA agent for any information relating to visa options.’

IELTS Testing
International students applying to remain in Australia will be required to complete and pass an English language test. Support and preparation for IELTS testing (international student English language test), workshops dates and costs can be found here.
