The School offers a range of specialisations for postgraduate students, taught in English, with a strong international focus. Rennes features a mix of eclectic architecture, grand public squares and beautiful gardens as well as a number of arts and cultural festivals throughout the year.

The University of South Australia has a student exchange partner relationship with the highly ranked Rennes School of Business who offer full semester exchange places to UniSA postgraduate business students in Fall or Spring semester.

Rennes School of Business also offer an International Summer Program annually in June. This two week ‘Responsible Management’ program focuses on the importance of corporate social responsibility.

Tuition is in English and as an exchange student you will remain enrolled at UniSA and will not have to pay tuition fees to Rennes School of Business for full semester exchange or the International Summer Program.

Grants

In addition to the UniSA Travel Grant, students are able to apply, through a competitive process, for a Business Student Mobility Grant. Further information is available here.

International Summer Program

Rennes School of Business’ International Summer Programme is offered annually in June. The ‘Responsible Management’ program focuses on the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR). Courses topics include Stakeholder Management, Responsible Leadership, CSR and Investors – Responsible Finance, CSR and Employees – Responsible Human Resource Management, CSR and Consumers – Responsible Marketing, Green Business and Environmental Management and The Institutional Environment of CSR. It also incorporates company visits, cultural activities and sightseeing. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded 6 ECTS equivalent to one 4.5 UniSA course.

Nomination deadline

Applications for exchange to Rennes School of Business must be completed by January 11 for student exchange in the Rennes School of Business Fall semester of the same year or August 1 for Spring semester of the following year. Rennes School of Business application deadline

The UniSA International Study Overseas team will advise you within three weeks of the application deadline if you have been nominated for a place at Rennes School of Business. You will then receive information about how to apply.

The Rennes School of Business deadline for applications for:

  •  Fall semester is 30th May of the same year
  •  Spring semester is 21st October of the year prior.
Entry requirements

Students must have obtained the level Bachelor degree (BA, Licenciatura, etc.) or at least the equivalent of 180 ECTS credits in business studies.

Native speaker of English or IBT TOEFL 79, IELTS 6.5

Supporting documents required

1. Completed Rennes School of Business application form signed by the student and the home university (with the official stamp of your home institution)

2. CV in English

3. Official academic transcript with the official stamp of your home institution.

4. Motivation letter (in English)

5. List of courses you wish to take

6. Official certificate provided by your home institution certifying the level of your oral and written business English Language skills, equivalent to IBT TOEFL = 79, IELTS 6.5

7. One passport-sized photo (additional photos required at registration on campus)

8. Copy of passport.

Tuition fees

Not applicable to exchange students. Your tuition is paid to your home institution.

Accommodation

On the Rennes School of Business online housing platform, you will find many offers around the campus from private landlords, halls of residence and real estate agencies. Reservation requests may be made directly on the platform with your rental file. You will receive the enrolment key to sign up on the platform once you are enrolled at Rennes School of Business.

Accommodation application deadlines

Early January (for spring semester); Mid July (for fall semester). You are advised to reserve accommodation immediately following notification that you have been admitted.

Accommodation insurance

French law stipulates that all persons who rent accommodation must have civil responsibility and third party insurance at their address in France; some property owners include this in their rental package. If not, you can buy this through your French bank.

Visa

Required.
Please check with your nearest CampusFrance agency, French Embassy or Consulate.

Upon acceptance at Rennes School of Business you will receive an official acceptance letter in English, its translation into French (for visa purposes) and an additional letter in French for the Embassy/CampusFrance agency.

Airport pick up

The Well’Come Team - a student association - will help you on arrival. You will be picked up at the train station, bus station or Rennes’ airport provided you arrive during the official arrival dates. The Well’Come Team will also take you to your accommodation.

Work rights

As an international student, you can take on paid work. Enquire at Campus France, the French Embassy or Consulate regarding work rights when you are applying for your visa.

Travel insurance

Before you leave for your exchange you must make sure that you have taken out travel insurance with repatriation in case of serious health problems, accident etc.

NB: students who must apply for visas are often asked to take out repatriation and other insurances by the French Embassy.

Health insurance

All students are required by French law to take out the French Student Health Insurance (fees for 2018/2019: 215€ approximately AUD$320). Private insurance cannot be accepted under any circumstances.

It is illegal for students to attend French universities if you do not have the above mentioned health insurance.

Vaccinations

Students are recommended to visit their Doctor and/or consult Travel Doctor prior to travel.
