These opportunities are open to postgraduate and MBA students.

To participate in a short term exchange program you will need to have completed 9 units of study, have a GPA over 4.0 and gain approval from your Program Director. Your Program Director will also be able to provide advice regarding the number of credits you will receive towards your program upon successful completion of the exchange.

WU Vienna University of Business and Economics - WU International Summer University Graduate Program & Vienna Innovation Program

Location: Vienna, Austria
Dates: May or July or August
Duration: 3 weeks depending on program chosen

The WU Vienna University of Business and Economics is a triple crown accredited school with EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA, placing it in the top 1% of Business Schools worldwide. There are two intensive programs offered to MBA and Graduate students to complete as part of their program at UniSA. 

Vienna Innovation Program

4-21 May 2020 

This two week program offers the opportunity to learn about modern approaches to innovation management and apply them in real-life projects. This program includes sightseeing, cultural activities and social events.  Successful completion of this program is worth 5 ECTS plus a 1500-word reflective report to UniSA is equivalent to 4.5 units at UniSA.

WU International Summer University Graduate Program

6-24 July and 27 July to 14 August 2020 

This intensive program offers courses in a range of disciplines annually. The program consists of three courses which are taught consecutively over the duration of three weeks. Successful completion of a minimum of 2 courses in the graduate program is equivalent to one 4.5 unit course credt at UniSA.

University of Calgary - Haskayne MBA summer program "Entrepreneurial Thinking"

Location: Calgary, Canada

The University of Calgary, Haskayne School of Business is ranked #1 in North America in the QS top 50 under 50 by QS World University rankings (2016). They pride themselves on holding two quality ranked MBA programs - Haskayne MBA and Alberta Haskayne Executive MBA. 

Join this summer program for a uniquie experiential learning opportunity on their main campus in Calgary - with a visit to the Rocky Moutains for MBA and graduate students. This course is taught in English with a mix of students providing an excellent opporutnity for establishing global networks with entrepreneurial individuals. 

The course "Entrepreneurial Thinking", focuses on generating value-add processes, products/services to business models. How to navigate entrepreneurial risk, prepare and validate business cases, venture resourcing strategies and finance. This one week intensive training course inclues: a mix of experiential workshops, online exercises and discussions, lectures, case analyses, guest speaker panels, hands-on team fieldwork on developing entrepreneurial ideas and business model pitching. 

Successful completion of this program is 6 ECTS plus a 1500-word reflective report (to be handed into UniSA) is equivalent to 4.5 units at UniSA.

Universite Laval - Financial Inclusion and Sustainable Growth: Recent Developments

Location:  Québec
Dates: July
Duration: 1 week

Attend a unique summer school in Quebec, Canada presented by three renowned professors from the University of Laval (Canada), University of Groningen (The Netherlands) and the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa). 

This one week summer school is equivalent to one 4.5 unit course at UniSA and is designed for MBA and masters students with financial background. Participants will learn about new research and major developments in financial inclusion, including microfinance. The summer school will explore how financial development can become inclusive and kick start a process of sustainable economic growth.

Taught in English, this summer school will take place at the University of Laval dual accredited - EQUIS and AACSB, Faculty of Business Administration located near downtown Québec City and Old Québec, a UNESCO Heritage site.

Denmark

Aarhus University  School of Business and Social Sciences - AU Summer School

Location: Aarhus, Denmark
Dates: July and August
Duration: 2 weeks to 4 weeks, depending on number of courses chosen

AU Summer University is Aarhus University’s summer school which takes place on our beautiful campus every year in July and August. The programme consist of a broad variety of courses, taught in English at Bachelor’s and Master’s level, within the fields of: Arts, Business and Economics, Media and Communication, Social Science and Law, Health, Science and Technology. AU Summer University is divided into terms. During each term, students can earn 5 or 10 ECTS credits depending on course duration, with most courses taking around 2 weeks to complete. Students can only take one course at a time.

Rennes School of Business - "The Responsible Manager"

Rennes School of Business’ Responsible Management program focuses on the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR).  Courses taught include Stakeholder Management, Responsible Leadership, CSR and Investors – Responsible Finance, CSR and Employees – Responsible Human Resource Management, CSR and Consumers – Responsible Marketing, Green Business and Environmental Management and The Institutional Environment of CSR. Rennes School of Business - International Strategic Management

Rennes School of Business’ The International Strategic Management course focuses on Corporate Strategy with issues specific to the multi-product, multi-location or multi-business firms. The goal is to identify the problems in managing a firm’s diverse businesses and locations, and to formulate recommendations based on its current and potential performance. Upon successful completion of the program students are awarded 6 ECTS equivalent to 4.5 units at UniSA.

WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management
MBA European Summer Program - "The Changing Environment for International Business in Europe" 

Location: Vallendar, Germany
Dates: May (two sessions to choose from)
Duration: 2 weeks 

The course takes place on the attractive campus of the WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, located just outside of Koblenz in the Valley of the Rhine River. Both two-week programs, taught in English and focus' on the following topics:

  • European Integration: The Single European Market of the EU and European Monetary Union
  • Doing Business in Eastern Europe
  • Restructuring Companies in Transition Economies
  • Innovation Strategies of European Companies
  • European Marketing
  • The Environment of Mergers and Acquisitions: European Competition Policies
  • European Financial Markets

The topics listed above are designed for MBA students interested in International Business, Finance and Corporate Strategy.

The language of instruction is English. The program comprises 48 academic hours (equivalent to three credits of a 14-week term) plus around 22 contact hours of a cultural program (equivalent to two credits of a 14-week term). The program includes a final exam. Successful completion 70 hour course is equivelent to 4.5 units at UniSA.

In order to undertake this exchange you will need to be nominated by UniSA to do so.

An additional registration fee applicable to all students which covers the cost of airport pick-up/drop-off, a bus pass, the welcome and farewell receptions, lunches and some regional excursions.

Japan

Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU) - Japanese Studies Summer Program 

Location:  Nishinomiya, Hyogo. Japan
Dates: February
Duration: 3 weeks

Kwansei Gakuin University campus is located a 30 minute train ride from Osaka which is known for it's architecture, nightlife and hearty street food. This summer program is three weeks and designed for students who wish to study about "Cool Japan", which includes contemporary Japanese culture and products such as animation manga, games, Japanese traditional cusines and commodities. The lessons are taught in English you will learn about Japan's cultural and creative industries that shape "Cool Japan" from a business studies and social sciences perspective. 

The courses offered are (4 credits for 2 courses): 

  • Japanese Studies Seminar A (Cool Japan: History and Culture) 
  • Japanese Studies Seminar B (Cool Japan: Business and Society)

Students must undertake both courses (4 credits) to be equivalent to one 4.5 unit course at UniSA. This program is available for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Mexico

IPADE, Universidad Panamericana – "Doing Business in Mexico: Mexico as an Emerging Market"

Location: Mexico City, Mexico
Dates: March 
Duration: 1 week

The Doing Business in Mexico seminar is a week long program in which the participants have the opportunity to interact with colleagues from Mexico and other visiting countries while learning about Mexico as an emerging market. Mexico, along with countries like China and India, is an example of an emerging market. Generally, these countries have rapidly growing populations experiencing a substantial increase in living standards and income, rapid economic growth, and a relatively stable currency. This is open to MBA and postgraduate students in their second year of study. Successful completion of this program is worth 3 US Credits which is equivalent to 4.5 units at UniSA.

University of Ljubljana - Ljubljana Doctoral Summer School

The Ljubljana Doctoral Summer School offers a variety of three five day intensive courses for postgraduate, PhD students, post-doctoral students, academics and professionals. The successful completion of each course is worth either 4 or 6 ECTS, depending on the course chosen. Please note as a guide, 7.5 ECTS is equivalent to 4.5 units at UniSA. 

Fees: A course fee of €800 is payable for the 6 ECTS courses and €600 for the 4 ECTS courses (if paid prior to the early bird cut off date. This covers tuition, study materials, on-campus facility access, lunches on weekdays and some social activities. Please note that travel, acccomodation and living expenses are at your own cost.

Sweden

Linkoping University  - Winter programme

Location: Linkoping, Sweden
Dates: December, January and February
Duration:  3, 6 or 9 weeks

The Faculty of Arts & Sciences and Faculty of Educational Sciences at Linköping University offer short-term courses in English for exchange students. Short courses are offered during 3 periods: December-mid January, January and end of January-end of February. Students are welcome to study one, two or all three periods (only one course per period).

There are courses offered in undergraduate and postgraduate level and each course is worth 7.5 ECTS credits which is equivalent to 4.5 units at UniSA.

United Kingdom

European Summer School of Advanced Management (ESSAM)

European Summer School of Advanced Management (ESSAM)

Location: Dumfries, Scotland
Dates: end of June/early July
Duration: 2 weeks

The ESSAM program is hosted by The University of Glasgow, it takes place on the integrated South of Scotland Higher Education campus – The Crichton Campus, Dumfries. Dumfries is located South of Glasgow in the Galloway district and lies closely to England’s border and with easy access from across Europe and the world. Participants in this course will gain a clearer understanding of sustainable futures in uncertain times.  Applications are directly to ESSAM and applications close in March. Fees: Your application and tutition fees are to be paid upfront to ESSAM. Upon successful completion of ESSAM, MBA students will be eligible to apply for 2 courses credit (9.0 units) towards their MBA (these credits are "unspecified electives") program. The tutition fee for Consortium members (which UniSA are a member) is £2,800. This fee includes a single room accommodation for one person, most meals, course material, and visits. On site accommodation at the Holiday Inn is available for participants with private facilities in all venues and transport between the locations is included in the fee.
