National Reconciliation Week

27 May — 3 June 2022

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation.

This year’s theme ‘Be Brave. Make Change.’ is a challenge to all Australians— individuals, families, communities, organisations and government - to make change beginning with brave actions in their daily lives – where they live, work, play and socialise, to work towards reconciliation for the benefit of all Australians.

UniSA will be celebrating NRW through a variety of on campus and online events; so everyone can get involved. In line with this year's theme, we invite you to commit to taking action by participating in the activities we offer.

UniSA Vice Chancellor, Prof. David Lloyd talks about National Reconciliation Week and the importance of this year's theme of 'Be Brave. Make Change.'

Welcome to Country from Kaurna Elder Uncle Frank Wanganeen, and Barngarla Elders' Aunty Anita Taylor and Aunty Penny Bonney.

Ngapulara Ngarngarnyi Wirra (Our Family Tree) exhibition at MOD.

What is the link between ancient Aboriginal knowledge systems, biometric data, the direction of the wind, satellite surveillance, AI and a very old sacred wirra (tree) deep in Adnyamathanha Country?

The link runs through Adam Goodes and his deep ancestral connections. For the past four years, Adam Goodes, Angie Abdilla & Baden Pailthorpe have been slowly and consciously working with Adnyamathana Custodians and Yarta (Country) in an effort to navigate some of the most complex questions of our time in the Data Tracker Project.

The entanglement of Adam’s biometric data within the metaphysics of Aboriginal knowledge systems has remained invisible, until now.
