Give a Voice to Your Story of Mental Ill Health

batyr is a youth mental health organisation that will be holding a Lived Experience Speaker Workshop (Being Herd) on March 24th & 25th at UniSA City West.

Being Herd is a free two-day workshop that empowers young people aged 18-30 to give a voice to their story of mental ill health. The workshop helps build the confidence and skills to learn how to share in a safe and effective way. Participants are encouraged to highlight the steps they took to reach out for support and discuss how they manage their wellbeing today.

Through sharing stories, participants are able to let others know that they are not alone, that it’s okay to not be okay, and that support is out there. Your story could be exactly what someone needs to feel more confident about reaching out for support; to feel they can talk openly about their own mental health.

Minimising Barriers : Maximising Success

In January 2018, UniSA’s Disability Services changed their name to “Access & Inclusion Services” to reflect a more contemporary approach to disability and inclusion.

Access & Inclusion Services are all about supporting and empowering students to achieve their academic goals and participate equitably in all aspects of university life. Students are often unaware of the wide range of supports that are available to them so we encourage you to chat with us about any questions or concerns you might have.

If you would like to speak with an Access & Inclusion Advisor you can book an appointment using the Online Booking System or contact Campus Central on 1300 301 703. All of our services are free and confidential and can be delivered either in person or over the phone from any campus.

More information about our services can be found on our new webpage.
