Take a break! Congrats on making it to the end of Study Period 5.

Happy Holidays!

So here we are at the end of the year! Congrats to you for getting through it and all you achieved.
With the holidays in sight (or already here for some!) now is the perfect time to recharge your wellbeing battery and take care of yourself. Some top picks for this summer are:
            • Explore somewhere new (markets, beaches - try: Plant 4, blowhole beach)
            • Start a herb garden
            • Learn to meditate
            • Go on a bike picnic
            • Rearrange your room/house
            • Write a love letter to someone
            • Make someone a mixtape (ok, a playlist)
            • Go food foraging
            • Throw a garden dinner party
            • Learn how to slack line
Whatever it is, take time out for YOU, because it's been a big year and YOU deserve it.

Volunteer at the Australian Jamboree in January!

A Jamboree is often described as an “experience of a lifetime”. How else can you describe ten days packed solid with adventure, excitement and fun, a city of 10,000 where everyone is a friend, a Scout camp so big it has to have its own hospital, post office and mail system, newspaper, radio station, and bus station?

The 25th Australian Jamboree (AJ2019) will be held from 4-14 January 2019 at the The Bend Motorsport Park in South Australia. Such a massive operation requires people power and there are a huge range of volunteer opportunities at the upcoming Australian Jamboree, including:
                                • Power gliding assistants
                                • Media and entertainment support officers
                                • Activity supervisors
                                • Swimming and boating safety officers
                                • Games assistants
                                • First aid officers
                                • Motor rally supervisors
                                • plus many more!
Transport options to and from the site will be available, further details to be provided to registered volunteers. Volunteers will require a current DHS Clearance for working with children.

To register your interest or find out more please contact volunteering@unisa.edu.au or call (08) 8302 5657.

Participation as a volunteer at the Australian Jamboree will be eligible for recognition through UniSA+.

                                White Ribbon Day

White Ribbon Australia operates in collaboration with, and alongside, many other organisations working to end men’s violence against women with a vision to create a nation that respects women, in which every woman lives in safety, free from all forms of men’s abuse.

Get your community together this White Ribbon Day on Friday 23 November, to show the world where you stand on ending men's violence against women in Australia. #WhiteRibbonDay

                                  #OwnYourTone

National Skin Cancer Awareness Week is 18-24 November.

2 in 3 Australians are diagnosed with skin cancer by age 70 and Melanoma is one of the most common cancers in young adults (especially young women).

This week is an important reminder of the risks of exposure to UV radiation, the need for sun protection, and early skin cancer detection for all people living in Australia.
