batyr's tips for relaxing during the break

The teaching break is all about taking time to relax and reset before heading into the second part of the semester, and there is one word to focus on to make this happen; self-care. Self-care is vital in terms of maintaining good mental health and feeling ready to take on what could be a daunting second term. What is self-care you ask? Well it looks different from person to person, but self-care is whatever helps you maintain good physical, mental or emotional health. Here's a list of things could be considered self-care and might help you to rejuvenate yourself in the break:
  • Going for a run, or playing sport with friends.
  • Delve into a good book in a comfy chair.
  • Locking in for a video games session for a few hours with nothing but some Mountain Dew and Doritos.
  • Running a bath and lighting a few candles and taking time out from the world.
  • Netflix and a tub of ice-cream.
  • Taking some time to be outside; be it going for a hike, or laying on the beach.
  • Having a board game night with friends.
From all of us at batyr, take some time to do what makes you feel alive, happy and healthy. Whatever it may be, take some time for yourself so that you can be yourself, not that stressed out, grumpy, tired, overworked person that can come out during the semester.
