Study hacks to help you succeed in your exams
|
|
Exams are coming up soon, and we know it can be a stressful time for you – especially if you’re juggling final assessments and other commitments. The Study Help PALS have come up with some useful tips to help you succeed!
Take notes as early as possible Take notes during lectures, workshops and on readings as you go. This will save having to go back and write notes for your exam revision. Writing notes on paper can often help with retaining information more than on a laptop.
No question is a silly question If
you are unsure about certain content material, ask your tutors. This way you will be comfortable with the content material and can go into exams with less stress and uncertainty.
Use dot points Use dot points for your exam revision notes. If you have detailed notes, revise them and when you are comfortable with memorising the information, shorten them into dot points. This way you can test yourself in being able to memorise information with ease.
Get lots of rest Make sure you have a healthy study-rest balance. Allocate a few hours for study each day, and make sure to take breaks to give yourself time to recharge. You want to go into exams, well rested and with optimal focus.
Revise, revise, revise! Revision
is essential! Revise your material as much as you can and go into exams with a strong recollection of learning material. Review past quizzes and modules to solidify your memory. The more you revise, the more you can remember!

Counselling support available for you during exam time
|
|
Are you struggling to cope with upcoming exams or looming assessment deadlines? Or do you have urgent personal issues that require support? UniSA’s Counselling Service offers free and confidential short-term counselling to onshore students to help you manage any personal issues that may be affecting your studies, such as exams or assignments.
If you feel you might need help with managing during exam time, you can talk to one of our counsellors, who are highly qualified and have extensive experience working with uni students. Appointments might not be available immediately, so it’s best to book ahead of time to ensure you can get a spot for when you need it.
If you need to speak to someone urgently and are unable to book an appointment with our counselling team, you can contact Campus Central for assistance. Alternatively, you can call the UniSA Out-of-Hours Crisis Line on 1300 107 441 or text 0488 884 163 from 5.00pm - 9.00am on weekdays and 24 hours on weekends and public holidays.
