Applications to participate in a Semester Exchange in SP2 2023 are closing soon!

If you are interested in exploring the world and making lifelong friends while studying and earning credit towards your degree, make sure to get your application in by 1 August 2022. You could be eligible for Australian government grants of up to $7,000 to support you during your time overseas.

Mindfulness Practice Sessions are back in SP5
Come along to one or more of our mindfulness practice sessions and experience different activities to help you manage your wellbeing.

Learn how to:
• Create mindfulness routines
• Manage challenging thoughts and feelings
• Improve focus and concentration
• Connect with your environment and much more

The sessions will run for a period of six weeks, commencing on Friday 5 August from 3.00pm – 4.00pm, at Magill campus.

Online workshop: Procrastination? Unlock your potential!
This study period, our counsellors are hosting ‘Thrive@UniSA’; a two-part workshop series which will help you learn practical and proactive strategies to manage mental wellbeing and balance the pressures of study with your personal growth goals.

Workshop 1 ‘Procrastinating? Unlock your potential!’ will help you to understand procrastination, recognise how you procrastinate, and review practical strategies to help you manage the "habit" of procrastination.

Applications to become an Academic Student Representative (ASR) in SP5 2022 are now open.

What does an ASR do?
ASR’s encourage student involvement in the continued improvement and development of the University’s teaching and learning outcomes.
As an ASR, you’ll get to:
• Represent the student cohort by collecting their views and suggestions
• Communicate valuable student-focused feedback on a range of academic issues to program directors
• Suggest ideas for new initiatives and activities
• Connect with a range of academic staff
You’ll also get your own ASR t-shirt, a certificate, be recognised under UniSA+ pillars, and much more!

How do I get involved?
It’s easy! Check if your program is eligible, and if it is, complete the application form by Monday 8 August. If you’re successful, you’ll be invited to attend an in-person or online training session.

TEDxUniSA 2022 presents: VICISSITUDES
Have you ever wished to be in the audience of a live Ted talk, experiencing what it feels like to be a part of the new wave of technology, entrepreneurship and innovation?

Join us at TEDxUniSA 2022 ‘Vicissitudes’, which explores contrasting occurrences that influence our emotions, thoughts and behaviours. Recent years have perfectly resonated with the theme, as we have witnessed the world take numerous turns in a short period of time through a pandemic.

An array of innovative speakers with practical ideas will join the global conversation and redefine the word ‘vicissitudes’. They will cover the topics of science, business, technology, art, design, entertainment and much more.

Challenging Loneliness: A four-week group program
Thursday 9, 16, 23 & 30 August, 2.30pm – 4.00pm, City West campus
This four-week group is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and will focus on exploring the concept of loneliness and its impacts on wellbeing, building psychological flexibility and emotional regulation skills and much more.

This is an interactive group program, and it is important to be able to commit to all sessions to maximise your experience.

Get fit and stay centered with lunchtime yoga at UniSA
August – October, 12.30pm – 1.15pm, Mawson Lakes, Magill & City East campuses
A four-week yoga program will be running at Mawson Lakes, Magill and City East in August, September and October. For $10, you’ll get to attend 4 classes over 4 weeks at the same campus. We provide the mats, just bring your water and towel.
