Share your story at batyr's Being Herd online workshops
Calling all students! batyr - a preventative youth mental health organisation partnered with UniSA - are running a number of free Being Herd workshops every month until the end of the year.

Get keen to share your story in a feel-good session with a small group of young people like you, discussing their own wellbeing challenges or what it’s been like supporting someone else. It can be daunting sharing your story, so that’s why all of batyr's Being Herd workshops are run by trained facilitators. It’s a safe space to process your feelings, share your own experience overcoming tough times and learn from others.

Each workshop will be held for two days over Zoom and is open to UniSA students aged 18-30. The next one is coming up on 10-11 September, so reach out now if you're keen.

Seven steps to effective problem solving
As your assessments start rolling in, it is easy to lose motivation with other responsibilities and commitments taking priority. In order to find the energy and determination needed to strive for the best, it's important to first identify some problems that may keep you in a slump.

Here are seven useful steps to help you solve any problem, no matter how challenging.

1. Identify the problem (try talking to others in order to figure out what the problem is)
2. Explore the problem
(think about it from different angles)
3. Set goals
(what is it that you want to achieve?)
4. Look at alternatives
(brainstorm as many solutions as possible)
5. Select a possible solution
(which possible solution is the most relevant, realistic and manageable?)
6. Implement a possible solution
(plan when and how you will do it)
7. Evaluate
(how effective was the solution and were there consequences?)

If you need extra help with improving your motivation, you can always book in to talk to our counselling team.
