What is Academic Integrity?
Throughout your studies, it is important to demonstrate Academic Integrity in all aspects of your degree. But what is Academic Integrity and why does it matter?

“The word ethics kind of comes to mind.” – Sarah Kim, Master of Teaching

“It is important to submit work of your own because it shows the lecturer that you know what you’re talking about.” – Claudia Schwarzkopf, Bachelor of Primary Education (Honours)

“Behaving in an honest and truthful way in your student life will eventually help you get to where you want to be in the future.” – Vinavie Gayara, International Master of Business Administration

“I think it’s really rewarding when you create your own piece of work that’s a little bit different than anyone else’s.” – Andy Morran, Bachelor of Social Science

Your critical thinking skills, unique perspective and ideas are what make your work stand out, just like your fingerprint.

Visit our website to find out more about Academic Integrity and how to put it in practice for your exams and assessments.

Master critical thinking skills for success at university and beyond
As a key component of learning, critical thinking is essential for your academic success and helps you become a better thinker. It allows you to make well-reasoned arguments in your essays or assignments.

Here are some tips for good critical writing:
1. Writing must be clear and concise. Keep descriptions to a minimum and avoid emotional language and jargon.
2. Select only the most important or controversial points to examine in detail and summarise the arguments.
3. Sequence the information in a logical order that helps readers to understand the line of reasoning.

Learn more about critical thinking and explore other valuable resources on the Study Help page.
