CONTENT WARNING: This article discusses sexual assault and sexual harassment.
When someone is hurt or in distress, it is a common response to call for help. But what if you see your friend make an inappropriate comment about one of your classmates – will you speak up and challenge their behaviour? Or will you stay silent and let it slip?
This
is the topic explored in the upcoming screening of 'The Bystander Moment', a documentary about the role of bystanders in preventing gender-based violence. Hear from Jackson Katz – co-founder of Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) – about how we all have a role to play in challenging abuse, supporting victims and survivors, and helping prevent the abuse from happening, by simply having the courage to stand up and speak up when we see sexist attitudes and behaviours.
Join us at the screening and be part of the change.
