Move to Okta Verify App before 2 June 2025
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) helps to protect your identity by using multiple methods to verify your identity – not just your password – making it significantly harder for hackers to access accounts even if a password is compromised.

On 2 June, Okta will be turning off SMS as MFA for all users. Due to this change, UniSA will be moving to the Okta Verify App as the default method of MFA, which is already in use by many UniSA students.

If you use SMS as your only Okta MFA method, you will need to change from SMS to the Okta Verify App. You do not need to wait until 2 June – you can set up Okta Verify now via the link below.

Adelaide University study plan support
Following on from our study plan update in the last edition, we want to give an update for students who are expecting to complete their degree in 2025.

If you are due to complete this year, you won’t initially receive a transition study plan. However, the student transition team will monitor your progress throughout the year and if it's identified that a transition study plan is required (for example, after you drop a course or go on leave), a study plan will be developed and sent to you. Those check-in points will occur after major result release dates in late July and December.

If any students – whether you’re an expected completer or transitioning student – have any questions, a dedicated transition support team will be ready to support you through this process. From Monday 26 May, a team will be available from 8:30am – 6:00pm Monday to Friday to respond to your queries, with contact details to be shared with you soon.

Prepare for exams with PASS SWOTVAC sessions
Feeling nervous about your exams? Want to tackle them with confidence? Join a Peer Assisted Study Session (PASS) during SWOTVAC to get face-to-face support with your exam revision.

These free and informal study sessions are facilitated by students who have excelled in your course. They’ll help you review your course material, guide you through practice questions and share practical tips to help you prepare and ace your exams. Sessions are available in person and online.

PASS SWOTVAC sessions for business courses will be held until Thursday 29 May at City West and online. Sessions for other programs and campuses will be announced soon.

Stay vigilant and combat contract cheating
Have you ever received a friend request, message or email from a stranger or business promising to help you with your assignments?

It could be a cheating service that actively targets students like you, offering assignment help that can lead to contract cheating and, in some cases, blackmail. So how do you know a request is legitimate? When is it okay to accept help from a third-party and when is it considered academic misconduct (a.k.a contract cheating)?

Understand the risks and protect yourself by studying with academic integrity. Explore UniSA’s Academic Integrity module and learn how to identify, avoid and report illegal cheating services.
