In these compulsory sessions you will meet your program Academics and peers, and be provided with essential information about: settling into university life, the requirements of your degree, managing your health and wellbeing, and how to be a successful UniSA student. A question and answer session about your student visa and compliance will also be included.

Welcome Reception

The University of South Australia invites all commencing international students to join us for the International Student Welcome Reception. This is your official welcome to the University, the city of Adelaide, and the country of Australia. There will be a ‘Welcome to Country’ from a Kaurna elder, and a special address from a senior Academic leader, then the afternoon will provide the opportunity find out more about life in the Australian culture, climate, and community, and all the essential information you need to settle into Adelaide. You’ll connect with other new and current international students over light refreshments and fun activities. We look forward to seeing you there!

Healthy U sessions

Get a head start on your health and wellbeing and focus on building a healthy you. Being healthy is critical to your success at university. With the demands of study, it can be easy to not pay attention to your health and wellbeing.

This session is hosted by Bupa and the UniSA Medical Clinic. Get essential information and advice to help you navigate the Australian health system, and understand where to go, what to do, who to ask for help and what medical services you are eligible for.

Snacks and drinks will be available. There are also great prizes to be won.

Guided city tour

Let the UniSA G’Day Mates guide you on a free walking tour of Adelaide city. The tour includes visits to the famous Adelaide Central Markets, Haigh’s chocolate, and the Art Gallery of South Australia. Enjoy a free lunch at the Botanic Gardens at the end of the tour. Cleland Wildlife Park

Join us for an exciting trip to Cleland Wildlife Park, located 30 minutes from Adelaide city. Get up close with native animals of Australia, feed the kangaroos and wallabies, and take photos with a koala. Tickets are $25 per person and include park entry fee and return bus transport.
