Tertiary Access Payment (TAP)

The Tertiary Access Payment is funded by the Commonwealth Government following a recommendation by the Napthine Review. It helps students with additional costs associated with the transition to higher education, such as relocation, travel and accommodation.

It aims to encourage students in inner regional, outer regional and remote or very remote area Australia to access high-level tertiary study (Certificate IV or above) in the year immediately following Year 12, rather than taking a gap year.

If you wish to know more about the TAP, more information is available on the Department of Education, Skills and Employment website
