Online training

Training is a key part of the University’s zero tolerance approach to sexual assault and sexual harassment and is part of a range of initiatives designed to strengthen the University’s culture, policies and practices.

Consent Matters

Consent Matters is an evidence-based, online training course designed in consultation with experts in the fields of sexual assault, gender studies, law and psychology. The course has been specifically designed for universities and reviewed by student advocates, student service providers and student representatives. The course covers important information for everyone, regardless of gender, sexuality or existing knowledge on the topic, including:

  • what consent is, how to identify when it has been given, and situations where it can’t be given
  • the importance of good communication, identifying boundaries and talking about them
  • how to identify situations where someone may need help and how you can intervene.
