While you are required to wear academic robes during the graduation ceremony, they are open at the front and what you are wearing underneath will be visible. It is for this reason we recommend you wear business attire, and also good shoes you are comfortable walking in. As you will be wearing your academic robe for a few hours, we recommend removing jackets and coats before gowning as the gowns are made of thick material and can cause you to feel quite warm.
