Can I apply for credit in a UniSA degree?

*This question is specific to OUA students only*

You can apply for credit for any of the programs offered by the University of South Australia through Open Universities Australia. Please note that credit policies and may differ between programs. In deciding whether you should submit a formal application for credit, the following points should be noted:

  • Credit is not granted for incomplete TAFE/TAFE equivalent qualifications
  • Previous study completed within Australia or overseas must be recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF)
  • The University of South Australia has a 10 year credit rule, only study completed within the last 10 years is eligible for credit
  • Submitting a formal application for credit is the only way to receive credit
  • Credit will not be confirmed before your application for credit has been assessed
  • A minimum of 8 units in the degree must be completed with the University of South Australia

You need to have enrolled in an Open Universities Australia (OUA) unit offered by the University of South Australia (UniSA) before your credit can be recorded on our student record system.
