UniSA Scholarship for Student Leadership

General information

UniSA offers the UniSA Scholarship for Student Leadership across its regional locations, including Whyalla and Mount Gambier. Recipients will join key student leadership projects and student engagement activities, fostering leadership skills and enhancing the student experience.

Responsibilities:

1. With support from UniSA staff‚ the scholarship recipient will have the chance to be part of key student leadership projects as well to create and co lead student engagement activities.

Enhancing Leadership Skills

Promoting Student Engagement

2. Where possible‚ work with relevant campus staff to implement and measure the success of the proposed engagement activity and provide feedback for continuous improvements. .

3. Meet regularly with the Regional Manager and/or Regional Student Support and Coordinator of Student Leadership

How to Apply

Applicants are required to provide:
1. A written statement (maximum 500 words) briefly describing “What does leadership mean to you? What initiative do you think would enhance the student experience, particularly relating to student leadership, at our regional campuses?”
2. Your written statement should also include your answers to the following questions:
a. “Can you commit to meeting at least once per fortnight with UniSA Staff throughout the year” (Y/N)
b. “Will you participate in student engagement activities where you are available and the activity does not conflict with other commitments”.
3. A copy of their resume

Eligibility:

 - Full-time or part-time study load

 - Current participant‚ or willing to participate in the UniSA+ Award

 - Grade Point average of 4.0 or above

UP to 4 scholarships are available to be awarded annually:

  • Up to 2 to students from Whyalla Campus
  • Up to 2 to students from Mount Gambier Campus

Value: Up to $2,500 per recipient

Payment will be in stipend amounts of $250 per fortnight. Payment is subject to the student being enrolled and maintaining satisfactory academic merit (GPA above 4) ‚ meeting the agreed hours per week and objectives of the scholarship.
