The Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Grant program

Overview

The Medical Research Future Fund is an ongoing research fund set up by the Austrailan Government in 2015. The net interest from the fund pays for important health and medical research projects.

The MRFF administers funding for health and medical research on behalf of the Australian Government, and provides funding for areas of research set by an independent group of experts called the Australian Medical Research Advisory Board (AMRAB). Every 2 years, and after national consultation, AMRAB sets the MRFF Strategy and Priorities. In addition to the MRFF Strategy and Priorities, the Australian Government considers which initiatives will reduce burden of disease, provide practical benefit, or deliver the best value for money when making funding decisions.
