DIVISION 90 COMMERCIAL SERVICES AND TOURISM
This division covers R&D directed towards the provision of commercial services to the economic and social development sectors.
It includes:
- financial, property and business support services;
- tourism;
- trade;
- water and waste services; and
- environmental sustainability of commercial services and tourism.
This division has six groups:
Group 9001 Financial Services
This group covers R&D directed towards the development and provision of finance and investment services.
It includes:
- banks, building societies, credit unions and money market dealing;
- investment and superannuation services; and
- insurance services.
This group has four objectives:
- 900101 Finance Services
- 900102 Investment Services (excl. Superannuation)
- 900103 Superannuation and Insurance Services
- 900199 Financial Services not elsewhere classified
Group 9002 Property, Business Support Services and Trade
This group covers R&D directed towards the development and provision of property, business support services and trade.
It includes:
- property services such as real estate, security services (including alarm and surveillance services), property management and development;
- legal, accounting and secretarial services;
- advertising and graphic design services;
- business consultancy and market research services;
- plant leasing and hiring (other than computer and communications equipment); and
- wholesale and retail trade services.
This group has five objectives:

Group 9003 Tourism
This group covers R&D directed towards the development and provision of tourism services.
This group has four objectives:

Group 9004 Water and Waste Services
This group covers R&D directed towards the development and provision of water and waste services and utilities to households and industrial and commercial premises.
It includes:
- management and recycling of wastes and waste products, including toxic, biological and radiological waste;
- provision of water services and utilities, including household supply;
- stormwater drainage and sewerage waste management and treatment;
- storage, recycling, purification (including desalination) and distribution of water;
- repair and maintenance of water related facilities; and
- operation of irrigation systems.
This group has five objectives:

This group covers R&D directed towards environmentally sustainable ways of managing commercial and tourism service activities by minimising the generation of emissions and wastes and by reducing or optimising the consumption of resources such as water.
This group has six objectives:
