The Guidelines for evaluation activities involving UniSA students and staff (PDF) provides guidelines for evaluation activities involving students or staff at UniSA. For the purpose of these guidelines, 'evaluation activities' may include methods such as surveys or focus groups and are often related to teaching and learning or the student experience. They include corporate evaluation instruments used to evaluate courses, programs, teachers or University products or services.
Researchers are also highly encouraged to consult the NHMRC’s Ethical Considerations in Quality Assurance and Evaluation Activities. This valuable resource offers guidance on the ethical considerations and level of oversight applicable to various types of Quality Assurance (QA) and evaluation activities, including a list of situations in which ethical review may be required - see Section 2(e).
Some evaluation and QA activities require ethics approval, while others do not. To identify the appropriate review pathway for your QA or evaluation activity, please refer to the criteria outlined here.
