MyRM Human Research Ethics - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) 

 

This page provides answers to many frequently asked questions relating to Human Research Ethics Applications in the My Research Management (MyRM) system.  If you don't find your question addressed, please contact humanethics@unisa.edu.au or 8302 6330 or for system related queries contact research.information@unisa.edu.au

If you have difficulty accessing the MyRM system, forward a request for access to research.information@unisa.edu.au with the following details:

  • Full Name
  • Staff or Student ID
  • Unit/institute
  • UniSA username
  • Email address

If you are having trouble finding your supervisor's details, try searching by surname only.

If your supervisor is external to the University or you still cannot locate your supervisor’s name, they may need to be added to the system.

An account in MyRM can be requested by emailing research.information@unisa.edu.au and including the following details:

  • Full Name
  • Staff or Student ID
  • Academic Unit
  • UniSA username
  • Email address

Ensure that you have selected Yes at the Primary? question to set yourself as the Primary Chief Investigator, and then click OK on your investigator record to close the pop up. Click Save on the Toolbar to ensure that the change has been made.

Note that as a default, the Applicant (person that creates the application) is assigned the role of Chief Investigator.

Action Comments require the applicant to respond to the comment before the application can progress to the next stage. General Comments do not require a response from the applicant but should be viewed.

Please note that Action Comments must be addressed and responded to before the application can be resubmitted and ethics approval can be granted.

An application can only be resubmitted once all Action Comments have been responded to and all red comment bubbles on the Sections/Pages menu have turned amber. An application cannot be resubmitted if there is a red comment bubble against any Section/Page.

Revisit all page comments (refer to Section 5 Reviewer’s Comments in the MyRM Human Research Ethics Applications Applicant User Guide) and ensure that all comment bubbles are amber or blue.

Once all Action Comments have been responded to, the application can be resubmitted by clicking Submit on the Toolbar.

Yes, you can print the comments for the Human Research Ethics application in MyRM Refer to Section 3.2 Generate a copy of the comments in the MyRM Human Research Ethics Applications Applicant User Guide.

Quick steps:
  1. Click the Reports button on the Toolbar.
  2. On the Print View tab, select Comments Report and either Option HTML or PDF.
  3. Click OK.
  4. If PDF is selected, the document will download. If HTML is selected the Comments Report will open in a new window.

 

Logout and then login to MyRM again. The system displays this error if it has been idle for some time. You can start from where you left off, after logging in.

Check for an error message in the ‘To fix’ column. Open the attachment record and check that the document has uploaded correctly. You can delete and reattach the document. Click Save on the Toolbar after you fix each attachment record to identify whether there are still records that need attention or whether you have resolved the problem.

You can remove an existing attachment and add a revised document in its place.
