Please read 5.0 Responding to Reviewer’s Comments in the Applicant User Guide to learn how to respond to Form and Page-level comments.

To view the comments, please refer to the instructions under I have received an email notifying me that changes need to be made to my application, how do I view the reviewer‘s comments? (above).

To review your student's response to reviewers' comments, please read 4.0 REVIEWING RESPONSES TO COMMENTS in the Principal Supervisor's User Guide to learn how to review the responses to both Form and Page-level comments.

Form Comments apply to the application overall, whereas page-level Comments are comments which apply to a particular page within an Application.

Form Comments can be reviewed by selecting this icon at the top of the Application.

Page-level Comments can be reviewed by selecting this icon on each page.

Action Comments require the Applicant to respond to the comment and mark the item as being 'responded' to before the application can progress to the next stage. General Comments do not require a response from the Applicant, but should be viewed.

Please note that Action Comments must be addressed and responded to before the application can be resubmitted and ethics approval can be granted.

An Application can only be resubmitted once all ‘Action Comments’ have been responded to and all flags have turned yellow. An Application cannot be resubmitted if there is a red flag against any section.

Revisit all Form and Page-level comments (details on how to do this are in 5.0 Responding to Reviewer’s Comments in the Applicant User Guide) and ensure that all flags are yellow.

Once all action items have been responded to, the Application can be resubmitted by selecting the Action tab and clicking Submit.

Yes, you can print both the form and comments with the Human Research Ethics Application System. Select the Reports icon, then select the Comments Report in Print View Tab for the Document, and click the OK button.

The system only accepts a maximum of ten attachments. If you have more than ten, combine the multiple files into one zip file so that the maximum of ten is not exceeded.

You can remove an ‘old’ attachment and add a revised document in its place.  Deselect the ‘Soft Copy’ check-box, and then click on the upload icon to ‘attach’ a new/revised file.

Please note, you MUST then select the ‘Save’ button located in the toolbar on the top left-hand-side of the screen after attaching each document, otherwise the new attachment will not be saved to the application form.
