For an overview of the process for research degree applicants from sanctioned regimes please refer to the Sanctions compliance process for international student applications.
Where an applicant from a sanctioned regime applies to do a research degree at UniSA, they are identified in the first instance by the Graduate Research SAS Admission team who will conduct a preliminary assessment using the Sanctions compliance form for international Research Degree applicants.
If the student is found on the consolidated list, or the risk rating is high, the student will not be eligible for an offer of admission and the student will be notified.
Where the risk is not high, and the supervisor wishes to recommend the student for admission, the supervisor will be required to complete an additional section of the Sanctions compliance form for international Research Degree applicants. This form needs to be completed in consultation with the Research Degree Coordinator, or equivalent as well as the Executive Dean. Supervisors should not complete the Sanctions compliance form until notified by GRSAS.
Before a formal letter of offer or invitation to visit the University can be sent to a student or researcher, the following form must be completed by the Unit in consultation with the Research Degree Coordinator and Executive Dean:
Sanctions compliance form for visiting international students and researchers.
If a student, researcher or their research project is on the consolidated list, or the risk rating is high, the student or researcher will not be eligible to visit the university.
