Supervising@UniSA (compulsory) 

As part of its commitment to provide its HDR candidates with the best possible experience of their research training, UniSA ensures its supervisors are well-prepared and supported in their performance of this vital and complex part of their academic practice.

Supervising@UniSA is the University's official blended induction program and a requirement for all new supervisors at UniSA. Advanced supervisory practice workshops are also available, along with a number of contemporary video resources to enhance skills in supervision. The Research Education team are also research-active academics who supervise and publish in the field of doctoral education.

Developing your skills in supervision

A three-part series, ‘Developing your skills in supervision’, commences in April, delivered by the Research Education team. The series is designed particularly for those in the early stages of their HDR supervisory careers but open to all. It extends UniSA’s HDR mandatory supervisor induction program, ‘Supervising@UniSA’. The three workshops need to be booked individually:

Commencing stage of candidature: Getting started and the research proposal.
Developing your skills in supervision - Part 2
Tuesday, 16 April 2024, 9:30am – 12:30pm, City West Campus
Continuing stage of candidature: Research practices and processes and providing feedback on writing.
Developing your skills in supervision - Part 3
Tuesday, 23 April 2024, 9:30am – 12:30pm, City West Campus
Completion stage of candidature: Completion, submission and beyond.
