Engaging Learners in the Classroom (ELiC)

The long-running workshop for sessional staff, Tutoring@UniSA has been replaced by Engaging Learners in the Classroom as part of the TIU's new program of professional development opportunities. Please follow this link for session details and registration. 

Planning for Success: Teaching active learning classes at UniSA

Planning for Success is a 50 page booklet that is a practical resource for all teaching staff that run active learning classes at UniSA (tutorials, practicals, workshops, seminars, studios, practical classes etc).

The booklet includes:

  • Definitions of effective teaching in higher education
  • strategies to plan, conduct and evaluate active learning classes
  • advice for teachers supporting learning through feedback, group work, online learning
  • an outline of assessment, marking, moderation and academic integrity at UniSA

The RED report: the contribution of sessional teachers to higher education

The RED (Recognition, Enhancement and Development) report presents the outcomes from an Australian Learning and Teaching Council project on the contribution of sessional teachers to higher education. The RED report and RED resource are available to download.
