The ACER Aboriginal Student Undergraduate Grant provides a direct offset of lost income to enable students to forgo paid employment during their teaching practicums. Students will receive an increasing level of financial support each year as the length of their practicums increases, from second year to fourth year inclusive. Grants are available to all current Aboriginal students studying an eligible Education program and payment will be made based on the length of practicum placements.

Grant funding is limited and once all funds have been expended no further grants will be awarded.
Payment will be made upon notification of the practicum placement, from 2024 to 2026. If required to repeat a placement, students will not receive a grant for any subsequent placement attempt.

The Pank family has established this scholarship in memory of David Pank. The scholarship is tenable for up to three years and will be offered to students enrolled full-time in the second or third year of a Bachelor of Education program (and associated Double Degree programs). Applicants must provide evidence of financial hardship and a supporting statement with their application outlining their career and personal aspirations and how the scholarship will assist them in achieving their goals. Details of financial disadvantage should also be included in the written statement.
The scholarship will be awarded on the basis of financial hardship, a personal written statement, academic merit and an interview.
Students in receipt of another Pank family scholarship, grant or prize are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Value: Up to $6,000. Recipients will receive an annual payment of $2,000 made in two instalments of $1,000 after the Study Period 2 and Study Period 5 census dates provided they continue to meet the scholarship criteria and maintain satisfactory academic performance.
The value of the scholarship may be split between more than one recipient where the selection panel determines to award to more than one applicant.

The Pank family has established the David Pank Northern Areas Education Placement Grant in memory of David Pank. The grants will be offered to high achieving students enrolled full-time in either:
(a) the second or third year of one of the following undergraduate programs, is taking part in a required placement in the year immediately following their awarding:
(b) the first year of one of the following Masters specialisations, each of which requires a placement as part of the second and final year:
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents. The grant recipients will be selected on the basis of:
Applicants must submit a one-page written statement detailing their career objectives and how the grant will assist in achieving their goals. They should also include details of their vision for helping students in disadvantaged schools, and their passion for education.
Preference will be given to applicants with a Mathematics and Science specialisation. Grant recipients will be advised of their award in the secord or third year of an undergraduate program or the first year of a Masters program, and will receive their payment of $1,000 after the Study Period 2 census date in the following year, pending the confirmation of their placement in a rural or northern areas school.
Students in receipt of another Pank family scholarship, grant or prize are not eligible to receive this grant.
Students who have previously received this grant are not eligible to receive this grant again.

The Enabling Educator Excellence (E3) Scholarship, funded by the South Australian Government, will be awarded to full-time or part-time students who are commencing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree that is accredited by the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia.

The Iris Glover Scholarship in Early Childhood Education has been established by Dr Anne Glover AO and Ms Rosemary Green AM in honour of their mother‚ Iris Glover. A lifelong learner with a very strong commitment to young children’s learning‚ Iris Glover was a teacher in small rural schools throughout South Australia from the late 1930s to the early 1970s. Years later‚ many students remembered the difference she had made in their lives. Her caring approach extended to trainee teachers‚ teachers beginning their careers and colleagues‚ all of whom she inspired with her enthusiastic‚ hardworking and caring approach and her extraordinary ability to adapt to change while always seeking the best learning outcomes for children.
The scholarship is tenable for up to three years.
Essential criteria
- Enrolled full-time
- In the second year of the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) program; OR
- In the second year of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours) program.
- Australian citizens or Permanent Residents.
Selection criteria
The Scholarships Office will assess applications and determine a shortlist of applicants.
Selection will be based on:
- A written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:
o Evidence of financial disadvantage
o Reasons for studying early childhood education
o Career and personal aspirations
o How the scholarship will assist them in achieving their career and personal goals
- Academic merit:
o Applicants must demonstrate satisfactory academic performance with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 4.0
o Applications from mature-age students will be considered favourably.
Tenure criteria
Subsequent payments are conditional upon successful completion of prior courses‚ current enrolment and maintaining a Grade Point Average of 4.0 or above.
Value: $10‚000 up to 3 years. Recipients will receive an annual payment of $3‚333.33 paid in two instalments of $1‚666.66 after the Study Period 2 and Study Period 5 census dates.

The late Shirley Harper was an early childhood teacher and her family has dedicated this scholarship in honour of her memory and life work in education.
The scholarship is valued at $4,000 per annum (for up to four years), and will be awarded to a financially disadvantaged *Aboriginal student enrolled in the Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood, Primary or Secondary Streams) and studying full-time. The scholarship will be open to commencing students, existing UniSA students or students returning to study.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need and will be required to participate in an interview as part of the selection process. No age restrictions apply.
Continuance of the scholarship is subject to satisfactory academic performance.
Students may be in receipt of other scholarships or grants administered by UniSA.
