Metro Campus Scholarships

The University of South Australia Scholarship for Student Leadership is available for a student studying at one of UniSA’s four metro campuses. This scholarship is suited to students who are passionate about the student experience and are interested in undertaking specified activities with the aim of enhancing the overall student engagement at UniSA. The successful student will have a unique opportunity to contribute to UniSA's mission to provide an outstanding student experience and develop excellent employability and leadership skills.

Successful recipients will assist the Student Life Team to plan, communicate and implement activities and events for the student body, which will enhance their student experience.

 Responsibilities

  1. Providing advice, support, and feedback on the student experience to the Student Engagement Unit and/or representative from the student body.
  2. Contributing to the planning and implementation of student activities and events. This would include on campus or online events such as National Reconciliation Week, Study Period 5 Orientation, wellbeing initiatives etc.
  3. Recruiting and leading other student leaders to volunteer, provide feedback and input into all the above tasks, where appropriate.
  4. Actively promoting supports and programs available to students, Career Services, Library Services, Counselling, Access & Inclusion and more.
  5. Meet regularly with the Manager: Student Life and/or their representative.

Applications

Applicants are required to provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:

  • A brief outline of how you believe you can enhance the student experience for UniSA students

And a resume describing your:

  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and work autonomously.
  • Level of passion for enhancing the student experience at UniSA and a willingness to be a leader in achieving this goal.
  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to commit to agreed hours per week during the year
  • Previous experience in planning, promoting and delivering events, or experience in creating marketing and communications materials.
  • Willingness to participate in any proposed UniSA leadership programs and events

Eligibility:

  • Full-Time or Part-Time student at a UniSA Metro campus
  • GPA of 4 or above
  • Current participant, or willing to participate in the Student Leadership Program.

Value: Up to $2000. Payment will be in stipend amounts of up to $200 per fortnight, depending on the hours required of the position. Payment is subject to the student being enrolled and maintaining satisfactory academic merit, meeting the agreed hours per week and objectives of the scholarship.

 

Whyalla Campus Scholarship

The University of South Australia Scholarship for Student Leadership is available for a student studying at UniSA’s Whyalla Campus who is interested in undertaking specified activities with the aim of enhancing the overall student experience at UniSA. The successful student will have a unique opportunity to contribute to UniSA's mission to provide an outstanding student experience and develop excellent employability and leadership skills.

Successful recipients will assist the Whyalla Campus Team to plan, communicate and implement activities and events to the student body which enhance the regional student experience.

 Responsibilities

  1. Providing advice, support, and feedback to the Regional Campus Manager and/or representative from the Whyalla Student body on the student experience
  2. Contributing to the planning and implementation of student engagement activities and events. This would include UniSA Whyalla Campus Events such as National Reconciliation Week, Study Period 5 Orientation, Whyalla Campus Open Day
  3. Recruiting and leading other student leaders to volunteer, provide feedback and input into all of the above tasks, where appropriate.
  4. Actively promoting supports available to students, such as Regional Careers Week, Library Services Campus visit, Access and Inclusion Officer Campus Appointments.
  5. Meet regularly with the Regional Manager and/or their representative

Mt Gambier Campus Scholarship

The successful student will have a unique opportunity to contribute to UniSA's mission to provide an outstanding student experience and develop excellent employability and leadership skills.

Successful recipients will assist the Mt Gambier Campus Team to plan, communicate and implement activities and events to the student body which enhance the regional student experience.

Please note that scholarship recipients enrolled full time at the University are likely to receive this scholarship exempt from tax. Part time students are not able to access this tax concession. UniSA cannot advise the tax implications of receiving this scholarship, and successful applicants should seek personal taxation advice. Applications can be lodged via my Scholarships in the student portal.
my Scholarships can be accessed by:
- using the URL: https://my.unisa.edu.au/Student/SCMS/Home.aspx , or
- by logging into my UniSA Student Portal and navigating to 'my Finances', then selecting the link to my Scholarships under the heading 'Related Information'.

Grant re-opening in 2023 is still to be confirmed.
