Mt Gambier Scholarship

The University of South Australia Scholarship for Student Leadership is available for a student studying at UniSA’s Mt Gambier Campus who is interested in undertaking specified activities with the aim of enhancing the overall student experience at UniSA. The successful student will have a unique opportunity to contribute to UniSA's mission to provide an outstanding student experience and develop excellent employability and leadership skills.

Successful recipients will assist the Mt Gambier team to communicate activities to the student body and/or provide support to the delivery of student experience events. Example activities related to this scholarship include:

  1. Providing advice, support and feedback for Student Life activities and programs.
  2. Contributing to the planning and implementation of a student engagement project.
  3. Recruiting and leading other student leaders to volunteer, provide feedback and input into all of the above tasks, where appropriate.

Applicants are required to provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:

  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and work autonomously.
  • A level of passion for enhancing the student experience at UniSA and a willingness to be a leader in achieving this goal.
  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to commit to agreed hours per week during Study Periods 2 and 5.
  • Previous experience in planning, promoting and delivering event, or experience in creating print and online marketing and communications materials.
  • Participate in any proposed UniSA leadership programs.
  • A willingness to challenge yourself and develop your leadership skills.

Value: $2000. Payment will be in stipend amounts of up to $200 per fortnight, depending on the hours required of the position. Payment is subject to the student being enrolled and maintaining satisfactory academic merit, and meeting the agreed hours per week and objectives of the scholarship.

Whyalla Scholarship

The University of South Australia Scholarship for Student Leadership is available for a student studying at UniSA’s Whyalla Campus who is interested in undertaking specified activities with the aim of enhancing the overall student experience at UniSA. The successful student will have a unique opportunity to contribute to UniSA's mission to provide an outstanding student experience and develop excellent employability and leadership skills.

Successful recipients will assist the Whyalla team to communicate activities to the student body and/or provide support to the delivery of student experience events. Example activities related to this scholarship include:

  1. Providing advice, support and feedback for Student Life activities and programs.
  2. Contributing to the planning and implementation of a student engagement project.
  3. Recruiting and leading other student leaders to volunteer, provide feedback and input into all of the above tasks, where appropriate.

Metro Campus Scholarships

The University of South Australia Scholarship for Student Leadership is available for students who are interested in undertaking specified activities with the aim of enhancing the overall student experience at UniSA. Students who are successful will have a unique opportunity to contribute to UniSA's mission to provide an outstanding student experience and develop excellent employability and leadership skills. 

Successful recipients will assist the Student Life team to design, coordinate and communicate activities to the student body and/or provide support to the delivery of Student Life events. Example activities related to this scholarship include:

  1. Providing advice, support and feedback for Student Life activities and programs.
  2. Contributing to the planning and implementation of a student engagement project.
  3. Recruiting and leading other student leaders to volunteer, provide feedback and input into all of the above tasks, where appropriate. 

Successful recipients will also be required to:

  • participate in the UniSA+ Award and the ASPIRE Program, the University’s student leadership and self-development programs. Participating in these programs will assist students to develop their leadership skills and perform optimally in this scholarship role.
  • deliver a report related to their specified activity.

Applicants are required to provide a written statement (maximum 500 words) detailing:

  • Demonstrated ability to show initiative and work autonomously.
  • A level of passion for enhancing the student experience at UniSA and a willingness to be a leader in achieving this goal.
  • Excellent communication skills and a high level of customer service.
  • Ability to commit to agreed hours per week during Study Periods 2 and 5.
  • Previous experience in planning, promoting and delivering event, or experience in creating print and online marketing and communications materials.
  • Participate in any proposed UniSA leadership programs.
  • A willingness to challenge yourself and develop your leadership skills.

Value:  Up to $2000 for a full year (or pro-rata equivalent). This amount will vary dependent on the commitment required and activities completed.

Please note that scholarship recipients enrolled full time at the University are likely to receive this scholarship exempt from tax. Part time students are not able to access this tax concession. UniSA cannot advise the tax implications of receiving this scholarship, and successful applicants should seek personal taxation advice.
