The DesignInc Master of Architecture Grant will be awarded to full-time or part-time UniSA Master of Architecture students and is designed to complement enrolment in the course ARCH4008 Advanced Architectural Design Studio (Construction).
A paid work placement at DesignInc is a requirement of the grant and recipients may, if eligible, apply for credit as a ‘recognition of prior learning’ based on completed placement hours with DesignInc towards the completion of a 4.5 unit elective course in the Master of Architecture. The placement will take place in final year (exact timing and duration to be mutually agreed between DesignInc and the recipient considering the study, work and family commitments of the student, and the firm’s ability to host the placement).

The Gavin Walkley Community Engagement Grant has been established by Jane Walkley in memory of her father‚ Dr Gavin Walkley CBE‚ LFRAIA‚ who was a noted South Australian architect‚ town planner and academic. Dr Walkley spent 25 years (1951-76) as Head of the University’s Louis Laybourne Smith School of Architecture and Design‚ during which time he greatly expanded the range of design and planning education on offer‚ by including subjects such as town planning‚ landscape design‚ and interior design.
Eligible programs:
The grant is designed to provide financial support to full-time students enrolled in one of the listed eligible programs within UniSA Creative.
The grant must be used for travel and financial support for the completion of a community engagement project in Australia or overseas. Financial support may include a stipend for the student to enable the project to be undertaken.
Applicants must identify a mentor from the academic staff in the disciplinary area in which the project will focus. This mentor should be consulted prior to application and nominated in the applicant’s cover letter.
Applicants will be required to submit:
o A description of a project to be undertaken individually by the successful applicant. The project is required to benefit a community. The proposal should define who their community is and how the project benefits this community. The project may be a continuation of work previously undertaken in the applicant’s previous studies or a new initiative. The project description should demonstrate the applicant’s developing skills and knowledge with an emphasis on community engagement and benefits to that community.
o Itemised budget.

Selection will be based on the submitted project proposal, portfolio‚ academic merit (Grade Point Average) and performance at an interview.
The recipient will present a report and/or a presentation of their project outcomes describing the impact and benefits on and to the community.
At all speaking engagements, publications and exhibitions arising from the community engagement project, recipients should acknowledge the support of the Gavin Walkley Community Engagement Grant.

James Allison (1978-2020) was a UniSA alumnus (Bachelor of Architecture with Honours, 2004) and experienced architect with work spanning sport, public, commercial, educational, and residential developments.
James joined COX Architecture in 2010 and specialised in sports architecture as a team leader on the Adelaide Oval Redevelopment, New Perth Stadium, Sydney Football Stadium, Queensland Country Bank Stadium and was Project Architect on the WACA Media Centre. James will be remembered for his technical excellence, his commitment and leadership, his generosity of spirit and his big old laugh. He left a lasting impression on sports architecture in Australia.
COX Architecture and the Allison family have established the James Allison Memorial Architecture Grant to honour his life and enthusiasm for the architecture profession. The Grant aims to support emerging talent in the architecture field through financial support and a placement with COX Architecture.
The James Allison Memorial Architecture Grant will be awarded to full-time or part-time UniSA Master of Architecture students and is designed to complement enrolment in the course Advanced Architectural Design Studio
(Construction) (ARCH 4008).
A paid work placement at COX Architecture is also offered as part of the Grant and recipients may, if eligible, wish to integrate placement hours towards the completion of the elective course Professional Placement or Project (GRAP 5004).
The Grant will assist the recipients to develop and apply skills and knowledge in the design and resolution of complex buildings and environs, and their professional responsibilities to clients, society, and the environment.
Applicants may hold other scholarships or grants administered by UniSA; however, the recipient should not be in current receipt of a scholarship or grant sponsored by another architecture company.

The Limbada Family Islamic Education Grant will be awarded to a student enrolled in either the Graduate Diploma in Education (Islamic Education) or a Higher Degree by Research (HDR) program in Islamic Studies, Islamic Education or Islamic Thought at UniSA.
The Grant aims to support recipients who intend to work in the field of Islamic education and/or to deliver education in Muslim communities, by developing a deeper, more personal and contextual understanding of Islam and strengthening the personal identity of both Muslim and non-Muslim recipients. By supporting the educational journey of recipients, the Limbada Family Islamic Education Grant aims to encourage a strong basis of faith/understanding and a desire to engage in community educational roles/work in Muslim communities.
Learning about a religion is a lifelong process, so recipients of this award are likely, having established a stronger basis in their faith/ understanding of Islam, will be better positioned to apply for work in Islamic schools or other education institutions associated with the Muslim religion where they can continue developing their knowledge base.
To receive the grant applicants must, in a written statement, demonstrate a passion for their program and have future goals related to Islamic Studies, Islamic Education or Islamic Thought.

The scholarship has been established to honour the late Linda Lou Murphy who was a highly regarded South Australian artist known for performances that included the adornment of the body by complex folded paper forms. The interplay between skin/paper, artefact/body, and risk as a positive force were some of the themes that informed her work.
The scholarship is open to commencing or continuing students who are enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework contemporary art program (minimum load of 9 units per study period) and preference may be given to a first year student.
The recipient will be selected on the basis of financial disadvantage or isolation, in accordance with the donors wishes, although consideration may also be given to applicants addressing other equity criteria. Additionally, recipients will be selected on their passion for contemporary art demonstrated in the personal written statement, and performance at an interview.
Scholarship applicants must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident, be enrolled in a Contemporary Art program, and provide a personal written statement. Applicants will need to provide relevant details relating to their equity status (e.g., Indigenous, low-socio economic status, rural or isolated location or students with a disability) and personal or financial circumstances should be included in their written statement.
Students who are in receipt of another scholarship administered by UniSA are not eligible to apply.

Established in 1856, the Royal South Australian Society of Arts (RSASA) is Australia’s oldest art society. RSASA represents South Australian artists and presents about a dozen exhibitions a year in their historic gallery in the Institute Building on North Terrace, Adelaide.
The Royal South Australian Society of Arts UniSA Grant provides an opportunity for emerging UniSA contemporary art students to engage with RSASA and the Institute Building to produce a work or body of work that responds to RSASA.
The grant will be offered to students in following programs to students with a Contemporary Art focus:
Two grants valued at $5,000 each will be offered every year.
Grant recipients will use as their inspiration the RSASA archives (the history available in two volumes with two new volumes in development, annual reports, books on RSASA artists, minutes of meetings, early exhibitions, catalogues, and art collections) and the Institute Building (entrance, stairs, foyer, gallery, work space and basement).
Grant recipients will define the work process, the goal and expected end point, costs and display method with occasional supervision from RSASA members.
The grant assists recipients with their living and/or education expenses including the cost of art materials while undertaking the RSASA project.

The Sir Terry Pratchett Memorial Scholarship is available to a commencing full-time Master of Research (MMRD) student enrolled through the University of South Australia's Hawke Research Institute, and whose research topic fits within the Hawke Research Institute's theme of 'Identity Transformations' and has societal relevance.
The student will be located at the Hawke Research Institute with a primary supervisor and supervisory panel. The student will spend their first 6 months at the Hawke Research Institute, then up to 12 months at The Long Room Hub where they will be acknowledged as a Visiting Scholar, and then the remainder of their studies will be completed at the Hawke Research Institute.

The Sir Terry Pratchett Memorial Scholarship recipient's research field will be predominantly focused in the domain(s) relevant to and inspired by Sir Terry Pratchett's work and linked to the Hawke Research Institute's theme of 'Identity Transformations'. This could range from a study of satire and its impact on societal identity, to slavery or human rights studies, studies on catastrophe, to the transformative impact of telecommunications, international relations, technological innovation and its impact on the labour market, the global spread of mobilities, or issues of identity and social transformation. The proposed research will examine one of these areas through a societal lens and investigate its tangible benefit to society. The successful applicant will be able to draw a connection between their proposed research and the work of Sir Terry Pratchett.
Applicants will require good communication skills and leadership potential, demonstrated via a personal written statement and/or CV.

Value: Up to $35,000 a year for a period of two years, made in fortnightly stipend payments and two annual lump sum payments of $5,000 each for accommodation and travel expenses. The Swanbury Penglase Architecture Grant aims to support new talent in the architecture field through financial support and a placement with Swanbury Penglase.
The grant will be awarded to a student enrolled full-time or part-time in the Master of Architecture (DMAE) program. Applicants should be nearing the completion of 36 units of study (half the Master of Architecture program load).
Eligibility and selection criteria:
A paid work placement/internship at Swanbury Penglase is a condition of the grant and recipients may wish to integrate the placement into their program. The placement hours can be used towards the completion of AAD Internship (GRAP 5004).
