How do I apply for exemption for mandatory prerequisites?

*This question is specific to OUA students only*

If you are enrolling on a single unit basis i.e. single units for CPA Australia, ICAA or cross-institutional study then you will need to apply for exemption for mandatory prerequisite/s by emailing the OUA Student Advisers.

You will need to include the following details in your email: full name, OUA ID number or date of birth and unit code/name/study period of the unit for which you are enrolling and the relevant supporting documentation as detailed below.

Cross-Institutional Students
If you are enrolling in a single unit with OUA as a cross-institutional student, you need to provide a copy of the cross-institutional application form signed by your home university approving the enrolment.

CPA Australia, ICAA or NIA Students
If you are enrolling in single unit/s to meet CPA Australia, NIA or ICAA requirements, then you need to provide a copy of the assessment from the applicable professional body advising that you need to enrol in the unit to meet the requirements for professional recognition.

If any other single unit enrolment scenario applies then you will need to provide a transcript or result notice and syllabus outline for your previous studies and your email will be forwarded to the relevant Course Coordinator for assessment.

The turnaround time for exemption applications is two weeks.

OUA will be advised of approved exemption applications and you will be copied into the email so that you know that this has been done and you can proceed with your enrolment.
