It is your responsibility to manage your enrolment and be aware of all critical dates.
You should not confuse the census date with the academic withdrawal date (the date set per study period as the final day that a student can withdraw from a course without incurring academic penalty - i.e. a recorded fail grade), as these dates are different.

If you drop your course on or before the census date, you will not be charged for that course for that study period. If you have requested a HECS-HELP, FEE-HELP or SA-HELP loan you will not incur a debt. Also, any upfront payments of your student contribution and tuition fees you have made may be refunded to you.
If you withdraw from a course after the census date you will be charged for the course. This means you will forfeit any upfront payment of your student contribution/tuition, or if you are eligible for a HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP loan, you will incur a HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP debt. Any charge for Student Services and Amenities Fees (SSAF) will also not be refunded.
International students will be required to pay the tuition fees.
Students who withdraw from a course after the census date may apply for an amendment to enrolment and fees in special circumstances if they can demonstrate that special circumstances have impacted upon their ability to study. The special circumstances must be supported by documentary evidence.
