Aboriginal Cultural Sensitivity & Respect
Play an active role in paving the way for meaningful reconciliation.
This full-day workshop facilitated by Bookabee Australia aims to raise awareness and begin the process of developing a working understanding of Aboriginal Australia. Through this, participants will be better prepared to engage in genuine cross-cultural communication and to identify strategies for working together.

- Be able to identify the impacts of past government policy and practice and the trans-generational impacts.
- Have increased your awareness of the historical events that have compounded disadvantage for Aboriginal Australians.
- Be able to identify the impact of Federation, the Australian Constitution, and the 1967 Referendum on Aboriginal Australians.
- Understand the impacts of colonisation on the population and wellbeing of the Aboriginal Australian community.
- Understand how to apply five principles of Cultural Safety and cultural mindfulness to develop culturally safe, sensitive, and respectful relationships with Aboriginal Peoples.
- Understand the significance of ‘Identity’ for Aboriginal Australians as it applies to the commonwealth 3-part definition of Aboriginality.
