Prerequisites: To attend this session, you must have already completed the 'Aboriginal Cultural Sensitivity & Respect' workshop delivered by Bookabee Australia (from 2014 onwards).
This workshop builds on the outcomes and learnings from the Aboriginal Cultural Sensitivity and Respect workshop to develop a deeper understanding of, and sensitivity to, history and racism, and how they impact on contemporary Aboriginal culture.
This half-day workshop facilitated by Bookabee Australia will continue to explore white privilege, the historical and contemporary impacts of negative media on Aboriginal People, working with Aboriginal colleagues in a sensitive and respectful manner, understanding cultural load and cultural responsibilities, and engaging and working with Aboriginal communities.
The session references UniSA’s Stretch Reconciliation Action Plan and Aboriginal Action Employment Plan (Yaitya Warpulai Tappa).
Who should attend
Managers/Leaders that currently manage staff who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander are strongly encouraged to attend and will be prioritised if workshops fill quickly, but all staff are welcome to attend.
Note: If you are attending a virtual workshop, you will receive a separate email with your virtual meeting link closer to the workshop
