Sending email from non-ISTS managed server, application or system

To protect the University email reputation and ensure continuity of email to meet business requirements, it is a requirement that all UniSA emails be sent from authorised and authenticated servers, applications or systems.

  • Authorisation and Authentication will be facilitated by the use of a service account
  • If you own and manage a server, application, or system that is not managed by the ISTS unit, you can request a service account by contacting the UniSA IT Help Desk

If you have questions regarding this requirement, or to request a service account please contact the UniSA IT Help Desk. Any request for a service account should include:

  • The name of the application or service
  • A short name for the service or application, less than 15 characters. This will be used to generate the SMTP service account
  • A list of email addresses that the service will send from
  • A brief summary of the expected email recipients
