Sharing my mailbox

You may wish to share some or all of your own mailbox with another staff member in order for them to access mail or calendar items sent to you. There are a number of options for the degree of access you wish to grant to your mailbox.

To grant another staff member access to your entire mailbox and calendar send a request to ITHelpdesk

Note: this person will be able to see all of the content in your mailbox

In your request please state that you wish to provide staff member x 'Full Access' to your entire mailbox.

  1. In Outook, right mouse click on your Mailbox name (your.name@unisa.edu.au) and select Folder permissions
  2. Select the Add button
  3. Find the desired staff member through the search
  4. Double click on the desired persons name so they appear in the 'Add' bar at the bottom and click OK 
  5. Select the newly added person and select the appropriate Permission Level from the drop down. Reviewer rights are recommended at this level
  6. Ensure that the folder visible box is ticked
  7. Click OK

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Select File
  3. Click Account Settings button and then click Account Settings...
  4. Double click your main account
    NOTE: UniSA staff email will default to UniSA Exchange
  5. Click More Settings... 
  6. Select the Advanced tab
  7. Click Add
  8. Type the name or email address of the mailbox and click OK
  9. Click OK
  10. Click Next
  11. Click Finish
  12. Click Close
  13. Restart Outlook

  1. In Outook open your Calendar
  2. Select Calendar permissions from the ribbon at the top of the screen
  3. Enter the name of the person or mailbox you wish to allow access to and double click so the name appears in the Add field below
  4. Click OK to return to the Calendar Properties window
  5. Select the person or mailbox you added and select the desired Permission level
  6. Click OK

  1. In Outook open your Calendar
  2. Select "Open Calendar" from the dropdown
  3. Choose "Open Shared Calendar"
  4. Enter the name of the user or mailbox of the calendar
  5. Click OK
