Polycom

UniSA uses the Polycom video conferencing platform as a tier-one video conferencing solution where maximum functionality and integration with other systems is required.

A number of AV spaces include integrated Polycom systems to allow advanced room to room calling. This integration allows up to eight lecture theatres to connect to each other, all using the AV touch panel to share their cameras, microphones, and content.

With remote teaching in mind, a presenter in one lecture theatre can start up the AV system in another theatre, allowing students to attend lectures from a different campus.

Polycom systems are also able to dial into Zoom meetings, noting the following:

  • The Zoom meeting must be hosted by a UniSA Zoom account, or an external account which has a 'Zoom Conference Room Connector'.
  • A Zoom host must be part of the meeting to enable features such as content-sharing and microphone mute control.
  • When joining a Zoom meeting, the room's microphone system will be muted by default in Zoom.
