Accessing Student Email

IMPORTANT NOTICE:

From 31 January 2023 Microsoft will no longer support connections to UniSA student email using basic authentication. Access via web browser and official Microsoft clients (newer than 2015) are not affected. Most email clients support modern authentication if your email client is having issues try updating the application to the latest version or removing your student email account and re-adding it. Please see the following Microsoft web page for more information.

  1. Outlook for Windows Outlook 2010 – 2013 does not support modern authentication out the box. To access mail services Upgrade Outlook client to 2016 or higher.
  2. Outlook for Mac Client versions should be at 15.20 or higher that support Modern authentication.
  3. Outlook on Mobile Device Outlook on mobile devices already supports modern authentication if it is not connecting upgrade to the latest version or try removing and adding your student email account.
  4. Other Mail and Calendar apps – This includes apps, such as the Mail app on iOS. If these apps are not connecting upgrade to the latest version or try removing and adding your student email account. If this does not work try using one of the supported apps above or contact IT Help Desk for further information.

There are 5 ways:

  1. Clicking the my Email tab, once you have logged into myUniSA (Student Portal).
  2. Clicking the my Email link located on the right hand side of the Student Web page. 
  3. Directly through the Microsoft site: https://outlook.office365.com/owa.
  4. Selecting Outlook once you have logged into Office365 site: portal.office.com.
  5. Setting up an email client on your personal device e.g. Outlook

NOTE: Alumni can only use options 2-5 listed above.

  1. Log into myUniSA (Student Portal)
  2. Click on my Email tab
  3. Log into the UniSA Fedaration page
  4. Select whether or not to Stay signed in?
    NOTE: We recommend you only select Yes Stay signed in? if on a personal device, where no other person knows your login details.
  5. You are now in your student email

  1. Go to UniSA homepage
  2. Click Login
  3. Click Students
  4. Click my Email under Essential Links

  1. Go to Microsoft
  2. Enter your UniSA email address
    NOTE: Email format is <username>@mymail.unisa.edu.au
    OR
    Select your UniSA email address or if a non UniSA email is listed select Use another account
    NOTE:
    This option will only occur if you have logged into your Microsoft email previously through the current browser.
  3. Enter your UniSA Password on the UniSA Federation site
  4. Select whether or not to Stay signed in?

  5. You are now in your student email

  1. Go to Office365
  2. Enter your UniSA email address
    NOTE: Email format is <username>@mymail.unisa.edu.au
    OR
    Select your UniSA email address or if a non UniSA email is listed select Use another account
    NOTE:
    This option will only occur if you have logged into your Microsoft email previously through the current browser.
  3. Enter your UniSA Password on the UniSA Federation site
  4. Select whether or not to Stay signed in?
    NOTE: We recommend you only select Yes Stay signed in? if on a personal device, where no other person knows your login details.
  5. Click Outlook
  6. You are now in your student email
