Retrieve Archived Panopto Recordings

Panopto recordings which have not been viewed for two years or longer will be automatically archived.

The process to restore archived recordings is straightforward, but can take up to 48 hours depending on the size of the recording and the number of restore requests being processed.

A guide to restoring a Panopto video from a learnonline link is available at this link.

The process to restore your own videos directly from Panopto is as follows:

1.  Locate the folder with the archived content.
See Panopto Folder Locations for more information about the folder structure in Panopto.

2.  Click on the Archived (#) button.

3.  Select the Recording you want to restore.

4.  Click on Restore from Archive.

5.  A message is displayed to the right of the recording with an estimated time for restoration.

6.  Panopto will queue the restoration of the recording. The length of time it takes to restore a recording will depend on the size of the recording and the number of restore requests being processed at that time.

7.  Once the restoration is complete you will receive an email notification and the recording will become available for use.
