Syndicate Room (AV12+TCH) Guide

The newest generation of Syndicate Study Rooms feature a simple Interactive Display setup.

In Jeffrey Smart building, Syndicate rooms are fitted with a PC to use with the AV system. To use the AVPC, simply power on the AVPC, installed behind the display in the top left or right corner. If the PC is already powered on, it may be asleep and can be woken by moving the mouse or pressing a key on the keyboard.

The display will either automatically turn on or may require you to power it on from the front power button, located in the bottom right of the display. The display will automatically switch to the AVPC when a signal is present.

Once you are finished in the room, simply log out of the AVPC and the display will go into standby when the AVPC goes to sleep.

To use your own device in a project room (also known as BYOD "Bring your own Device"), simply plug in your device into the provided HDMI cable or HDMI socket, usually installed under the display or in the table. The display will either automatically turn on or you may need to turn it on from the power button located on the lower right corner of the dusplay. The display will automatically switch to the BYOD input when signal from the device is present.

Once you are finished in the room, simply disconnect and the display will go into standby shortly after.

Please do not disconnect or modify the cabling on the side of the display, if there are issues connecting please contact the IT Helpdesk on 8302 5000.

Syndicate rooms feature a touch LCD display, allowing you to use the display like a mouse or tablet. The display intelligently switches the touch functionality to which ever device is currently showing video.

To use the touch with the AVPC, simply switch on the PC and display (see "How do I use the PC?") and you can use your finger or the included magnetic pens to draw on the display.

To use the touch function with your personal device or laptop, connect the HDMI and USB cables provided in the table or below the display to your device. If the display is on it will automatically switch to your device and enable touch capability.
