How do I change the default printer on Windows?

There are multiple ways to achieve this, but the following will take you through the simplest method:

  1. Type Control Panel in Windows search
  2. Click Control Panel in the results

  3. Click View devices and printers

  4. Right mouse click desired printer
  5. Click Set as default printer

  6. If prompt, click OK

  7. The desired default printer will now have a green tick

NOTE: If you already have files open e.g. Word, Excel, PDF, etc., you will still need to select the default printer from the list until that particular software is closed and then opened again.
