IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Before you redirect your Student Email

  • The 'Keep a Copy of Forwarded Messages in Outlook Web App' is selected by default.  If you choose to deselect (un-check) this feature then redirected email will not be kept in your student email mailbox.

  • You will need to know the full Internet address for people in the University because you will not have easy access to the University Address Book from the alternate email account your messages are forwarded to.

  • You may not be able to send to some University mailing lists from the alternate account because they may be restricted to University email accounts.

  • Redirecting email to your work email facilities may result in breach of your employment contract or workplace policies, therefore it is your responsibility to ensure that redirection to your work email is permitted by your employer.

  • Email attachments or content may not be accepted by your redirected email service because there may be different limits on message sizes, mailbox size or type of attachments allowed compared to the student email limits (e.g. Hotmail).

  • Emailing a UniSA staff member or shared mailbox from a non @mymail.unisa.edu.au address may result in your email being mistreated as spam/junk. This is especially the case if the first part of your non UniSA email address is a nickname or phrase e.g. GadgetKing99@gmail.com

  • If you remove an existing email redirection, new emails will begin to collate in your student email Inbox.

The University of South Australia does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with your usage of this facility. This includes but is not limited to any loss of information as a result of improper redirection of email address or the failure of third party email facilities to accept the email.
