What are the print quota allowances for coursework students at UniSA?

It is related to the number of course units you are enrolled in each year.

The printing allowance is the same for all undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students regardless of the course load, unit or mode of teaching (internal or external).

You will receive a University funded initial base allowance of $12 plus an additional $11 for each 4.5 course units you enrol in for the year.
NOTE: The base allowance will be credited to your printing allowance balance the day after you enrol.

The course unit related amounts will be added each time you enrol, examples:

Scenario 1:

Student enrols in ALL courses they will be studying during the calendar year (irrelevant of study periods) at the start of the year.

Students who enrol this way will receive their allowance for the entire year at the start of the year. It is then the student's responsibility to ensure it lasts for ALL their courses and/or they will have to manually add quota.

Example: If a student enrols in February for courses A, B, C & D (each worth 4.5 units) SP2 and E, F & G (one worth 9 units and two worth 4.5 units) SP5, they receive a total of $100 print allowance for use through out the entire calendar year in February. The allowance breakdown the student receives throughout the year would be:

  • February
    • base allowance = $12
    • course A (4.5 units) = $11
    • course B (4.5 units) = $11
    • course C (4.5 units) = $11
    • course D (4.5 units) = $11
    • course E (9.0 units) = $22
    • course F (4.5 units) = $11
    • course G (4.5 units) = $11

Scenario 2:

Enrol in course(s) one study period at a time and once they have completed the current study period, they enrol in the next desired study period.

Students who enrol this way will receive their allowance for each course at the time of enrolment.

Example: If a student enrols in February for courses A & B (each worth 4.5 units) SP2, and waits until July before enrolling in courses C & D (one worth 9 units and one worth 4.5 units) SP5, they receive a total of $34 print allowance for use through SP2 and an additional $33 print allowance in July for use through SP5. The allowance breakdown the student receives throughout the year would be:

  • February
    • base allowance = $12
    • course A (4.5 units) = $11
    • course B (4.5 units) = $11
  • July
    • course C (4.5 units) = $11
    • course D (9.0 units) = $22

Scenario 3:

Enrol in additional course(s) after ALREADY enrolling for the entire calendar year e.g. decide to do a summer course.

Students who enrol this way will receive their additional allowance for the course(s) at the time of enrolment.

Example: If a student enrols in February for courses A, B, C & D (each worth 4.5 units) SP2 and E, F & G (one worth 9 units and two worth 4.5 units) SP5, they receive a total of $100 print allowance for use through out the entire calendar year in February. If the student then decides to enrol in Summer course H (worth 4.5 units) in October, they will receive an additional $11 print allowance for use through SP7. So the total print allowance they receive for the entire calendar year would be $111. The allowance breakdown the student receives throughout the year would be:

  • February
    • base allowance = $12
    • course A (4.5 units) = $11
    • course B (4.5 units) = $11
    • course C (4.5 units) = $11
    • course D (4.5 units) = $11
    • course E (9.0 units) = $22
    • course F (4.5 units) = $11
    • course G (4.5 units) = $11
  • October
    • course H (4.5 units) = $11
