Office365 standard software through UniSA Staff Account

  • Copy or move OneDrive content to another location before you leave as you will lose access to Microsoft 365. If you have shared files with other users they will also lose access to this content.
  • If you are the owner of any Teams, Sharepoint or other Microsoft365 resources that are shared or used by other UniSA staff arrange for another staff member to ownership before you leave.
  • Microsoft 365 resources such as your own individual Sharepoint sites, OneDrive storage will be deleted after 90 days.

Microsoft Office Store Apps – Microsoft Office Store apps are 3rd party apps that are not compatible with the university’s infrastructure and not available to staff or students. These apps can be used as staging platforms for malicious activities, data exfiltration or access to sensitive organisational resources, are unmanageable and are hence disabled in the tenancy.

Microsoft Apps online – These apps are available on the online Microsoft 365 page under All Apps. Not all apps are covered by university licensing and may require additional licensing fees by individuals.

Microsoft Teams Apps – These are add-on apps in Microsoft Teams, the 3rd party apps are disabled by default. A query can be raised with the IT Help Desk for a review process to determine if the app can be enabled on a case-by-case basis.

As of 31 January 2022, Microsoft will be implementing changes to enhance security of Microsoft 365 users. TLS (Transport Layer Protocol) 1.0 and 1.1 will no longer be supported and Microsoft will only offer support for TLS 1.2 from newer browsers and operating systems.

Windows 10/11 and other current operating systems and major browsers have TLS 1.2 enabled by default. However older operating systems may have issues when attempting to connect to Office 365 from certain devices/apps.

To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend you use updated and supported devices and apps that meet the current industry security standards. Microsoft has provided the following information on this change : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/azure/active-directory/enable-support-tls-environment?tabs=azure-monitor#why-this-change-is-being-made
